Frankincense Papyrifera Resin

Adam Michael has this to say “Smelling the resin neat it is a very churchy frankincense, warmer, deeper and far less toppy than smelling sacra resin. Frankincense resins are getting much attention from the scientists due chiefly to the prized and substantial constituent called boswellic acid, highlighted as having a number of therapeutic properties and of which is only found within the resins and not the steam distilled essential oils.

The resin on offer consists of small, easy to handle gum-yellow coloured pieces and is classed as FIRST GRADE.  A wonderful material for oil burners**, used for religious, incense and medical purposes and overall a wonderful aromatic that should be considered by anyone who wants to  better understand the unique peculiarities of the many boswellia species.”

Botanical Name: Boswellia papyrifera

Origin: Ethiopia

** At Hermitage Oils should you wish to burn the material neat we would recommend burning the material on an oil burner opposed to using charcoal disks. If you follow this recommendation we also advise placing a piece of foil in the well of your oil burner and then laying the resin on top. This prevents lots of mess and cleaning after use and by using an oil burner you get to enjoy much more of the aroma of the resin than when using charcoal disks.
