Frankincense Serrata Resin

Adam Michael has this to say “My fifth Boswellia resin and this one displays some deep, rich, playful, and very suave orange aromatic candied nuances that are without doubt not found in the steam distilled material.  Think about the essential oil and the citrus character is always of a lemon nature. When you burn this resin you these orange and lemon candy notes are very bright, very feel good and seriously uplifting on the senses.

This resin is a real crowd pleaser, it exudes all the classic notes you expect, churchy (less than other species), elegant, citrus and so on and every part of the aroma is controlled and smooth throughout. Warm yellow orange coloured goo when burning**, really big chunky resin pieces and like all the rest of the boswellia species so far is used as an incense and for religious purposes. Overall an excellent quality material that should also be tinctured as most of the deep rich playful orange notes come through very well in tinctured material.”

Botanical Name: Boswellia serrata

Origin: India

** At Hermitage Oils should you wish to burn the material neat we would recommend burning the material on an oil burner opposed to using charcoal disks. If you follow this recommendation we also advise placing a piece of foil in the well of your oil burner and then laying the resin on top. This prevents lots of mess and cleaning after use and by using an oil burner you get to enjoy much more of the aroma of the resin than when using charcoal disks.
