17th April at 2.15pm: Quick update to say all orders placed on the 9th have been collected just now by DHL. Orders placed on the 10th and 11th will all leave by the 19th. I will type again on Friday regarding orders placed from the 12th onwards. Other news, by Friday I am releasing a few more very big ticket rarities including our Italian Oakwood Absolute and a super grail rose otto. Thank you, Adam : )
15th April at 5.30pm: Today I am running behind but I am happy to say that along with all E.U countries, we now can supply to the USA again. USA switched on just now and the Mysore Sandalwood 4 year aged E.O offer is extended for a week for USA clients to enjoy too. By Wednesday 17th all orders from the 9th April will be dispatched with DHL. Although we are rather full-on with orders at the moment, the lead time will improve significantly very shortly. Reason being since reopening the focus has been solely on building stocks up and we have staff coming on as well now (at last!). I will write again on Wednesday regarding lead times. This week my tasks are to get on top of the SDS we are owed by the company we have employed to handle this. And other than this I am adamant I will update the bulk wholesale list with more aromatics. Finally for now - the following 11 aromatics have recently been added to the site - French Rose Geranium E.O, Sandalwood Mysore E.O 4 Year Aged, Tuscan Olive Leaf Absolute, Mitti Attar (Petrichor), Persian Queen of Roses (Otto), Tomato Leaf Absolute, Oud Assami Skank E.O V.1, South Indian 10 Year Aged Vetiver E.O, Bengali Nagarmotha E.O, VIolet Leaf Concrete, Italian Helichrysum Absolute S.G. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “As I type it is the 18th March 2022. Please note we only offer Chinese essential oil of ginger and not Indian like practically every other European online reseller. This is not about trying to be different, its about my own strongly held believes that whilst India does rule the roost for many aromatics, the Chinese have India beaten with ease for ginger essential oils of superior and truer aroma profile. Indian product is always harsher in profile as well I find. And at the end of the day my whole focus is about making sure Hermitage Oils put out excellent quality aromatics across the board, showcasing profiles that smell as similar to the starting plant material. CO2 offerings ultimately rule in the world of ginger aromatics, but if you are in the market for essential oil, sincerely, I strongly vouch for Chinese material.”
The essential oil is produced from the root by steam distillation and is a slightly greenish yellow to deep yellow orange in colour, darkening further with age. Aromatically it is very warm, spicy and reminiscent of cooking ginger in the pan – to my nose, whereas I interpret the ginger co2 extracts (which can vary massively) as being more comparable to the scent of peeling fresh ginger with sweet and caramelised aspects.”
Botanical Name: Zingiber officinale
Origin: China

Very intense ginger, strong, but very clear. Special sweetness and earthiness. One drop is enough. I like this with citruses and vetiver.

The aroma of ginger oil from China is different from the Indian varieties I have. It has more dry earthy tones. A very grounding oil. Gives interesting nuances in spicy accords for perfume compositions.
This oil really helps me out in winter. After long winter walks, I rub my feet with an oil blend with ginger and black pepper to quickly warm them up.
I also use Chinese ginger oil in the diffuser along with citrus, cinnamon and clove oils. This aroma warms up emotionally in the chilly winter cold.
