23rd April at 4.10pm: Unfortunately, regarding the message below and lead-times, I called it wrong. My apologies. As such all orders placed upto the 15th - and about half of those placed on the 16th, will leave by Friday 26th. On Thursday no collections are possible by couriers as it's a national holiday here in Italy. On the subject of SDS, the company handling this for us, has written to me today, acknowledged more are owed to us (submitted in December and January) and that they are now working on producing the final lot of SDS for us. This includes Plantation, Wild and Jungle ouds that many of you ask about. Next, I have spent the past year (literally) sampling ambrette seed e.o and absolutes from various producers and resellers to no avail. They all smell really poor compared to what I carried. They are too nutty, too fatty, too vegetative, too lacklustre, falling away very fast, and really dont showcase the musky textured qualities of a top ambrette properly. Even the big naturals brands are all obtaining and selling sucky poor man's ambrette at the moment. Written as I have decided to move over to carrying ambrette CO2 and this will be in place until I can find a wow absolute and E.O again. CO2 is still not on par with what I had, but it offers a far better profile on the musky front than the abs and e.os in the market place right now. This CO2 will be in stock by early May. Next, we will put all the non.eu destinations we can supply to, back on our website on May 6th - so U.A.E, UK, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Australia. On the new product front, the next batch of 10 superstars will be released on the 20th May - lots more roses planned. And I will get started on expanding the bulk wholesale side of the business very soon - more aromatics and offered in larger weights as standard - likely upto a kilo on the website. Ok I will write again by Monday. Thank you, Adam : )
19th April at 5pm: Quick update to first say I have now added the following big ticket aromatics to the website: Italian Oakwood Absolute, Organic Georgian Rose Raduga Otto and finally Persian P.E.A Intense Rose (Otto). Orders, as I type with exception to 3 orders, every order placed up until the 11th has left with the couriers. By Monday 22nd, all orders placed up until the 14th will leave with couriers and I will type again across Monday with another update. Bulk Wholesale orders that still need to be manually typed and billed will be done so by Tuesday 23rd. Thank you, Adam : )
15th April at 5.30pm: Today I am running behind but I am happy to say that along with all E.U countries, we now can supply to the USA again. USA switched on just now and the Mysore Sandalwood 4 year aged E.O offer is extended for a week for USA clients to enjoy too. By Wednesday 17th all orders from the 9th April will be dispatched with DHL. Although we are rather full-on with orders at the moment, the lead time will improve significantly very shortly. Reason being since reopening the focus has been solely on building stocks up and we have staff coming on as well now (at last!). I will write again on Wednesday regarding lead times. This week my tasks are to get on top of the SDS we are owed by the company we have employed to handle this. And other than this I am adamant I will update the bulk wholesale list with more aromatics. Finally for now - the following 11 aromatics have recently been added to the site - French Rose Geranium E.O, Sandalwood Mysore E.O 4 Year Aged, Tuscan Olive Leaf Absolute, Mitti Attar (Petrichor), Persian Queen of Roses (Otto), Tomato Leaf Absolute, Oud Assami Skank E.O V.1, South Indian 10 Year Aged Vetiver E.O, Bengali Nagarmotha E.O, VIolet Leaf Concrete, Italian Helichrysum Absolute S.G. Thank you, Adam : )
Adam Michael has this to say “After re-reading the product content provided by Mark and exchanging thoughts with Eleonora, we feel that tweaks are needed to provide a more balanced and accurate aroma description for this material. As such we want to provide our shared thoughts. It is the 30th August 2020 as I write. I am also adding a selection of linden photographs taken by me in Milan’s main park called Parco Sempione.
The aroma of this material is sweet honey floral, very saturating, warm and green. The honey aspects are super charged throughout and I think you could also interpret this as floral dewy. Truly wonderful material that I personally feel can be used in place of Acacia Honey absolutes when that material is called upon in perfumery work. And of course a must for linden blossom creations and this material pairs well with many florals, especially roses and jasmines and those of a somewhat spiced nature. Adds brightness and warmth wherever it is used.
Speaking of how much this material is close to the scent of the living flower, how close it is to the experience of walking in a warm early summer night, with heavenly clouds of linden flowers wafting all around you, we have to say that no, unfortunately this material does not manage to capture that magic. Not this nor any other linden material we have ever encountered. This linden CO2 rather strongly resembles the aroma of the best quality dried flowers of which are used within herbal infusions. This being said, this aromatic material is the closest it gets to the scent of a living linden flower in our opinion.
Perfectly alcohol soluble material, it will not mix in oil.”
Mark Evans has this to say “We really are spoiled to have a real, purely natural linden blossom flower extract available for us to use now. This linden blossom CO2 extract is an enchanting delight with an odour profile that is the exact replica of the flowers themselves blooming on summer linden trees. The fragrance is deeply narcotic and floral with incredibly rich facets of warmed beeswax and honey, pollen and tea. But that’s just the initial impression, beautiful as it is. Keep smelling the blotter and there’s notes of tonka bean, violet leaf and chamomile as well as a burning heat, somewhat like chicory. The overall effect is dense and complex, thickly sweet and yet also bitter.
Linden Blossom CO2 would be useful as a top note material as its strength fades pretty quickly to an animalic herbal dry-down. Use it in high class perfumery, herbal and floral bouquets, chypres, fougeres and as a more intense replacement for beeswax or honey absolutes.”

I will have to get some more of this one, unfortunately my experiments with linden blossom did not turn out so well but that doesn’t take away from the beauty of this sweet musty stranger as a stand alone material. There is something that feels so very very familiar about linden blossom as if it’s been stalking you your whole life but you only just realised. ‘I’m sorry do we know each other?’ the answer being yes of course, it’s a certain time of year that in many parts of the UK this is almost all you can smell. A subtle yet unmistakable powerhouse

I bought a lot of oils from hermitage, and I am more than pleased with my purchase. This was the biggest surprise of them all. I have never smelled a linden tree in bloom: if it smells like this, it is heaven. There is a sweet honey top note, but really good fresh honey, just taken from the hive. Then there is this tiny lime note , just enough to call it lime, w/o the acid, then a hay that is lazy, lazy summer without end. All this compressed into a floral. This is joy , happiness, no worries, such a perfect smell. If this could just stand alone, captures childhood summers in a bottle.

This is the first linden blossom oil which I’ve come across which actually smells like linden blossom (most linden blossom absolutes which I’ve smelt are quite heavy and don’t convey the delicacy and fragility of the actual scent of the blossom). This is richer than the scent of the usual linden blossom encountered here in England, and has an almost oriental hint. Fabulous material.

Linden blossom hits the mark on the JOY of bringing in work-play balance and 2020 is surely the poster child year for that. It is sensitive, radiant and ‘playful’. I explored it in combination with cassie, white champaca C02 and lavender C02. Also it blends well with a hint of tonka – I used a touch of yellow sweet clover (melilot) as the base note. It would blend beautifully with honey as well. Its my 2020 exploration! Love it’s gentleness and willingness to ‘work as a team’ player!

Linden blossom is my holy grail of scents to attempt to emulate in fragrance. I’m so pleased Adam makes it clear that this is really nothing like a Linden Tree in bloom. This is a much darker beast – with Bee propolis nuances. Does that mean it can’t be used to recreate Lime Blossom? Try this:
20 drops Linden CO2 @ 10% in PA
2 drops Petitgrain EO
1 teeny drop of Galbanum EO
And Immediately it’s late June/July, you’re probably near a churchyard with the sweet scent of Linden gently floating on the breeze.
Heaven : )

Following Adam’s revision of the description, I’m posting an addendum to my previous review (I can’t see a way of editing an existing review?)
Different linden species have different smells. I’d agree that this CO2 extract isn’t an exact match for the blossom of the typical lime tree found here in England (Tilia x europaea) – but it’s very close. (Try it in a 10% dilution in ethanol – it “loosens” it and allows the freshness to come through.)
Some years ago, I was walking through the business park where, at the time, I worked. There were a number of small ornamental trees, and I realised that one was a lime tree and was in bloom. I smelled the blossom – and, hand on heart, it was an exact match for this CO2 extract: recognisably linden, but with deep, complex undertones of spice, balsam and incense (“oriental” was the word which immediately came to mind). I picked a couple of blossom sprigs and put them in the office in a glass of water – they filled the entire office with their fragrance. I did try to figure out the species of the tree, but didn’t manage it: unfortunately, I don’t have access to it any more, as I now work in a different location.
Apparently reproducing the smell of linden blossom is something of a perfumery Holy Grail, and has so far not been satisfactorily accomplished. So I’ve been having a go: the challenge was just too much! The main problem is that the key constituent is farnesol – but in its pure form, it has only a very faint – albeit delightful – smell. Somehow it gets “amplified” in the linden blossom, but the process isn’t understood (it’s thought that maybe water vapour plays a part).
Just to emphasise that this CO2 extract has quickly become one of my all-time favourite materials. If I could award it six stars, I would do so.

This linden blossom shows rich, warm, boozy notes with less of the waxy green notes of absolutes.
This one almost makes me drunk when smelling it….Rich, mild fermented, fruity and dark sherry aging in oak casks.
It is boozy and intoxicating.

Linden flower essential oil is very good smell, like linden honey taste, accompanied by filar silk sweet charm.

Linden blossom CO2 brings me back to Russian summers with herbal tea with linden blossoms and fresh honey. Soft, warm, sunny and sweet with tiny bitterness.

Another item bought on a whim, and much to my delight has become a useful tool within my toolbox. Such an outstanding material that evokes summer warmth, honey, florals, with a herbaceous finish. Lovely!
