Nigella Damascena Absolute

Adam Michael has this to say “Wow, this is one of the most beautiful absolutes I have ever experienced. The opening notes of nigella damascena absolute are reminiscent of sweet syrup, acacia honey and manuka honey. The heart notes are warm honey, stewed apples, brown sugar, and white grape refreshing. The base notes are outstanding and comprise of acacia honey, beeswax, mimosa, cassie absolute, candyfloss, fresh strawberries, powerful peach and sweet watery apple.”

Arctander has this to say “Nigella Damascena Oil can be used in perfumery, not only for lipstick perfumes where it produces interesting modifications of the conventional strawberry-peach-pineapple type of fruity perfumes, but also in many floral bases, e.g. gardenia, honeysuckle, jasmine, lilac, neroli, etc. The oil blends well with linalool, phenyl ethyl alcohol, hydroxycitronellal, benzylacetate, terpeneless petitgrain oil, ylang ylang oil, bergamot oil, nerol, undecanolide, nonanolide, gamma valerolactone, etc. It is a comparatively powerful and penetrating perfume material which can be used effectively at concentrations below one percent.”

Nigella damascena absolute is produced by solvent extracting French seeds. Deep yellow in colour and of a sticky but pourable viscosity.
