25th March at 13.10pm: Apologies but my health has gone backwards rapidly in the past few days. After a conversation with Eleonora, at this moment running Hermitage is too much for us. Therefore the countries have all been temporarily removed and no orders can be placed. Please note orders received upto the time of this message will all be dispatched by today. Earlier messages now deleted from the orange banner but note I hope by mid to late next week I can get involved again with the business and reopen the website to E.U countries. New product releases, I have written content for five new aromatics and the plan was, and still is, to get to ten, and release them all in one lot. This will happen across early April. At the sametime the lab is finished, we have set up and we will get staff employed. Written as my own objective this year for the business remains the same, that being to end the stop start and get Hermitage in a position whereby it continues to flourish with or without my daily involvement. Thank you, Adam : | PS - We will reply to emails we may receive upon our return.

Adam Michael has his to say “An extremely pleasant natural isolate, exuding an unmistakeable odour of fresh mushrooms, very gourmand, gently nut like, sensationally fresh and so close to the real thing. More mushroom freshness dominates the middle notes with distinct fresh crushed herbs and light minty undertones. Basically a top note, octanol 3 features in the aroma profile of many mushrooms including boletus, forestiere and shiitake mushrooms.
As for uses, this natural isolate is an absolute must for building forest floor accords as it enriches the top notes beautifully, really bringing them to life. Also useful for improving vegetative notes, green notes, helps build earthy accords and pairs well with many foody naturals such as olive absolute, truffle extracts, butter CO2, nutmeg and pepper oils, through to herb naturals such as parsley, white thyme and celery seed oils.”
Extracted from Mentha arvensis essential oil

I am more familiar with amyl vinyl carbinol as far as fresh mushroom notes are concerned, but this related molecule seems very good too, and the natural isolate will always be preferable. Mushroom forms a key part of the lavender complex which is the traditional use, but forest floor seems an obvious destination for these fungal scents. Very powerful, with a slight fruity edge like pear drops.

This is such an interesting material, when i first smelled it, it bring back a memory while i was in the country of Georgia, i ordered this mushroom soup, which was the best tasting mushroom soup of my life, full of wild locally foraged mushrooms, lots of umami, and this material smells exactly like that soup!

Just like a walk in a misty forest, with abundance of mushrooms all around to smell. Invigorating, fresh and mouth-watering outdoorsy trip. Quite powerful and gourmand, true. I detect a blue cheese note hiding somewhere as well.

Smells exactly like fresh small forest mushrooms, (not the edible ones), with an added dampness and cool-camphor undertone. Perfect for adding a natural touch in you top notes.
