25th March at 13.10pm: Apologies but my health has gone backwards rapidly in the past few days. After a conversation with Eleonora, at this moment running Hermitage is too much for us. Therefore the countries have all been temporarily removed and no orders can be placed. Please note orders received upto the time of this message will all be dispatched by today. Earlier messages now deleted from the orange banner but note I hope by mid to late next week I can get involved again with the business and reopen the website to E.U countries. New product releases, I have written content for five new aromatics and the plan was, and still is, to get to ten, and release them all in one lot. This will happen across early April. At the sametime the lab is finished, we have set up and we will get staff employed. Written as my own objective this year for the business remains the same, that being to end the stop start and get Hermitage in a position whereby it continues to flourish with or without my daily involvement. Thank you, Adam : | PS - We will reply to emails we may receive upon our return.

Adam Michael has this to say “Patchouli dark essential oil exudes warm, rich, fruity, and oriental sweet notes throughout its aromatic development with wine like qualities in the top and interesting if somewhat fleeting herbaceous nuances in the heart. Patchouli dark essential oil is very good material that stored properly will age beautifully. The colour is light amber/orange, of a pourable viscosity and produced by steam distilling the dry leaves.
A must when building oriental notes and chypre fragrances. Useful within amber bases, works wonderfully within modern floral accords, and I always find it pairs especially well with vetivert, labdanum and rose materials.”
We also offer both light and molecular distilled patchouli essential oils.

I don’t have any other patchouli to compare this too but it is a pleasant smelling oil, it has chocolate elements to it, you won’t find any mint-like facets to this one. It pairs very well with vetivert, benzoin, and coconut, and never fails to add depth to my creations.

Love it – my favourite when worn solo so far. Smooth, sweet and deliciously earthy – takes me back to my teenage years in Folkestone in the Moon Palace, a hippy shrine full of incense, dream catchers and hand woven garments. Added a little Patchouli Super Premium to it and found this adds several more layers, depth and complexity – although I’m unable to evaluate it as a perfumer might.

Before I have never had dark pachouli. I used heart pachouli. So its huge differences between these. Heart pachouli is sweet, light, a bit Woody. Dark pachouli is stronger and more woody. If you no pro in oils just keep in mind that smell of different type of pachouli is very different.

The first patchouli I worked with, it has chocolatey notes along with soapy nuances.

For its price and after trying lots of different patchouli oils this is a star..i love the powdery note that leaves behind but also the soft sweetness and the warmth ..its a 5 star yes

Love that Patchouli. It is without the “rooty”, musty and almost insecticide smell of almost all other Patchouli I have had… And only a combination of clean but humid and fresh trunk smell remains, with hints of cedarwood.

Oh my… delicious dark patchouli with wafts of chocolate and nose tingling greenery, reminds me a little bit of After Eight Mints. As the description mentions, this one for sure gets better with age.

This dark patchouli EO with aging will no doubt get closer to the absolute. It’s a strong, a dark (of course) patchouli, with chocolaty aspects. Luckily no off notes you can get with lower quality patchouli and the characteristic aspects of a newer patchouli do not bother me as they will mellow with aging (what I’m planning to do with this one). It’s rather cheap for the quality you’re getting so I would recommend getting more than you need to age. Nothing outstanding for now but it will definitely get there after a few years.

Deep warm enveloping, created to complement and slightly woody. And the trail sweet note of a chocolate bar))

Someone once wrote a review on Adam’s page that he was addicted to patchouli. So true! You either love him or you hate him. And if you love him, you depend on him for the rest of your life. This one surprised me very, very nicely. The rural mold of post-war old cabinets is missing. He worked miracles with a vetiver, he worked miracles with coffee, or cocoa. Simply – play with. Patchouli never disappoints, God played and dripped mysterious insignia into his work.
