25th March at 13.10pm: Apologies but my health has gone backwards rapidly in the past few days. After a conversation with Eleonora, at this moment running Hermitage is too much for us. Therefore the countries have all been temporarily removed and no orders can be placed. Please note orders received upto the time of this message will all be dispatched by today. Earlier messages now deleted from the orange banner but note I hope by mid to late next week I can get involved again with the business and reopen the website to E.U countries. New product releases, I have written content for five new aromatics and the plan was, and still is, to get to ten, and release them all in one lot. This will happen across early April. At the sametime the lab is finished, we have set up and we will get staff employed. Written as my own objective this year for the business remains the same, that being to end the stop start and get Hermitage in a position whereby it continues to flourish with or without my daily involvement. Thank you, Adam : | PS - We will reply to emails we may receive upon our return.

We now sell this Raspberry Leaf absolute diluted to 50% in alcohol which results in a material that is pourable and ready to use. Thanks, Adam : )
Joseph Colbourne has this to say “This certainly is a magnificent material with a sensuous, edible aroma. Produced in France, this solvent-extracted absolute is made from the leaves of Rubus idaeus has a surprising depth and complexity. It opens all succulent, sweet, sun-kissed and jammy, punctuated by tart fruits, davana, mulled wine. Leathery, balsamic caramel, raisins, benozin, and notes reminiscent of fir absolute are revealed upon closer inspection. There is so much character in this absolute oil.
As a base note, this could easily extend berry damascone notes and work wonders with all sorts of rose. Raspberry leaf absolute can help to unify tricky woods accords, round out spices, and enhance tea or tobacco blends.”

I find this material starts off with a very sticky sweet plum like aroma and is ideal for those wanting to make a gourmand summer berries type scent. In the dry down there is an earthy green leaf note as well as a hint of mate tea type aroma. The two go well together I might add. Blend in some rose and spices and it starts to get very interesting indeed

Rich and beautiful blend of green jammy like or even imagine the xmas cake that smells all those dry fruits in it mulled in cognac or Rum…excellent for creating dark rose compositions or play with tobacco and oak moss..

Reminiscent of davana w more of a damascone bent. So deep jammy, a touch sour. It brightened a fruity blend w/o overwhelming. A softer note overall, drying down sweet and that’s when I get a touch of raspberry/berry and spice. Top to mid note although marrying it correctly could influence the whole.

Very interesting, reminiscent of a sweet jam and black tea leaves. I can think of a number oils that this would work well in, including tobacco, ambrette, and wood notes.

Jammy fir absolute, heavy steeped mate, wilting wet leaves, sour berries… Tenacious and friendly, it seems to blend readily and seamlessly with a wide variety of scents. Very nice.

Raspberry Leaf abs brings a roundness and complexity that has a lot in common with labdanum. As noted above it blends well with a wide variety of other materials, I would add to that list Blackcurrant Bud which has a particular affinity with Raspberry Leaf’s Mate notes. This is an interesting addition to previous Hermitage Raspberry Leaf absolutes, with slightly less jam, and a bit more subtlety over the long term. One of my favourite absolutes, which offers quite unique heart and base notes to the right composition.

Great ‘atmospheric garden’ Note for sweet herbaceous accords, with a happy hint of raspberry ketone. Very interesting affairs – with Orris root, and Cepes absolutes.

Unbelievable! It smells exactly like cognac and cherry candy!
Hugs, Medea and Anton.
