Sandalwood Spicata Essential Oil

Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma of sandalwood spicata is soft woody, creamy and phenomenally tenacious. This oil is pale yellow, of a slightly thick but pourable consistency and produced by steam distillation of the chipped or powdered heartwood and roots. The prized components are a-santalol and b-santalol which collectively account for over 80% of this essential oil. Therapeutically sandalwood is magnificent at treating dry and oily skin types.”

Joseph Colbourne has this to say “Originating from Australia, this sandalwood spicata is clean, sweet, and buttery, with very little of the sharpness that is typically found in the essential oil of the spicata species. Its cashmere softness is a pleasure as it wafts from the perfume strip, developing a sultry, arid undertone as it dries. A powdery, nutty base is revealed in the base, 8 hours on, showing marked tenacity. Of course, there is great aroma-therapeutic value, with sedative, cooling, anti-spasmodic, anti-fungal qualities. Energetically, it supports meditation and inner unity, quiets mental activity, and encourages acceptance. As with all sandalwoods, this is a staple for all perfumers as a fixative and harmonizing agent.”
