17th April at 2.15pm: Quick update to say all orders placed on the 9th have been collected just now by DHL. Orders placed on the 10th and 11th will all leave by the 19th. I will type again on Friday regarding orders placed from the 12th onwards. Other news, by Friday I am releasing a few more very big ticket rarities including our Italian Oakwood Absolute and a super grail rose otto. Thank you, Adam : )
15th April at 5.30pm: Today I am running behind but I am happy to say that along with all E.U countries, we now can supply to the USA again. USA switched on just now and the Mysore Sandalwood 4 year aged E.O offer is extended for a week for USA clients to enjoy too. By Wednesday 17th all orders from the 9th April will be dispatched with DHL. Although we are rather full-on with orders at the moment, the lead time will improve significantly very shortly. Reason being since reopening the focus has been solely on building stocks up and we have staff coming on as well now (at last!). I will write again on Wednesday regarding lead times. This week my tasks are to get on top of the SDS we are owed by the company we have employed to handle this. And other than this I am adamant I will update the bulk wholesale list with more aromatics. Finally for now - the following 11 aromatics have recently been added to the site - French Rose Geranium E.O, Sandalwood Mysore E.O 4 Year Aged, Tuscan Olive Leaf Absolute, Mitti Attar (Petrichor), Persian Queen of Roses (Otto), Tomato Leaf Absolute, Oud Assami Skank E.O V.1, South Indian 10 Year Aged Vetiver E.O, Bengali Nagarmotha E.O, VIolet Leaf Concrete, Italian Helichrysum Absolute S.G. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “Spikenard is steeped in biblical history and known by other common names such as nard, musk root and jatamansi. This oil is part of the valerianaceae family and thus is even referred to as false valerian root. The aroma is full of musky angelica, valerian rooty, and Himalayan cedarwood sweetness with a spiced bouquet of ginger, black pepper and turmeric and finished with ginger grass nuances. Produced by steam distilling the dried roots, and of a pourable viscosity.”
Arctander has this to say “As a general description it can be said that the oil is a pale yellow to amber coloured liquid with a heavy, sweet woody and spicy animal odor, reminiscent of valerian, ginger, cardamom and Atlas cedarwood oils. Spikenard is not regularly produced outside India and Japan, but when the oil is available, it can be used with advantage in perfumes such as Oriental bases, heavy florals, fougeres, woody bases, animal ambre types, etc. It blends well with amyl salicylate, cedarwood oil and its derivatives, coumarin, ionones, labdanum products, lavender, oakmoss products, patchouli oil, pine needle oils, vetiver oil, etc.”
Botanical Name: Nardostachys jatamansi
Origin: India

Such a rare material, almost underestimated by perfumers. The scent is very earthy, you feel damp soil, moss, decayed roots, everything related to a forest floor. A must have for a forest accord with a dark mood.

It is really a great essential oil that can be very useful for many creations.
For example if i would like to recreate an Oud wood accord i would absolutely use this spikenard.
It opens with sharp tenacious medicinal note.
After a while you can fell dry autumn leaves on wet soil. So it is earthy as well.
While minutes go by some sweet cedar wood, blue camomile, lovely bitterness, balsamic, woody, spicy scents enters my nostrils.
It is animalic as well.
While it dries down i can detect herbaceous hints, a touch of dry patchouli and mango leaves.
After an hour and a half or so it becomes green grass with a kind of cardamom in and out.
Great material for creating masculine or unisex fragrances as well as fougeres.
Absolutely a must in my collection.

Very powerful.
I find this similar to Nagarmotha, but less leathery.

Amazing material..so rich and powerful that is a true gift from nature..as if a thick syrup of oud, cedarwood, cypress, moss ,Oakmoss blended together in a red sweet expensive wine for years. ..i find it an excellent oil for masculine perfumes and heavy oriental attars..
