Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma of strawberry furanone is candy shop strawberry sweet throughout and this isolate naturally occurs in many foods including coffee, mangos, pineapples, roasted almonds and of course strawberries. Offered by Hermitage in pourable form by diluting the material to 25% in DPG. Useful material for imparting a fun and playful nuance within rich berry accords, chocolate and coffee themes, pairs well with blood orange and is a must for building strawberry accords.”

Powerful sugary sweetness. It reminds me a candy floss. This can add a pure sweetness of white sugar to any composition, and you would need a tiny drop.

My first impression from the bottle was ‘this isn’t strawberry!’ it smelled more like a slightly fruity creamy coffee but not strawberry enough to be recognized as such to my nose. Upon dilution and blended with other things I was astounded by how much it came to life… this is bright sparkling summer strawberry realness, like strawberry jelly with real strawberries set in to it. Use very sparingly.

Whoa, this is powerful stuff. It has no resemblance to actual strawberry aroma, but is a highly sugary, and a bit burnt scent with extreme power and longevity. Be careful, as even a tiny trace can be overpowering in a blend. It can even dominate otherwise strong materials. So I can recommend diluting it into 0.1 or even 0.01%, as you will hardly ever need it in large amounts. Very useful for its ability to add mature sweetness, and also a bit of a burned effect in many blends.

This reminds me more of caramelized sugar than it would a fruit! It’s easy to overdo it with this one, it has to be used wisely, too many times I have combined it with retro materials like a ylang2 or carnation and ended up in a pensioner’s boudoir. I recommend to use it with coffee to amp your gourmands, beta ionone to give it more raspberry-like facets, or cis-3-hexanol if you want something sour and green.
