Tangerine Essential Oil
Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma of tangerine is full of orange character (more interesting as well), reminiscent to my nose of drinking the Fanta fizzy pop drink, full of sparkle, lightness and refreshing zing, a real feel good aroma and another one that is lovely for the aroma diffuser.”
Arctander has this to say “Tangerine Oil can not be used as a replacement for mandarin oil in perfumery or flavour work. It constitutes a particular citrus note, but it is not sufficiently characteristic to become very interesting. It is used to some degree as a modifier in colognes, as a top note material in aldehydic perfumes, etc. In flavours, it is a popular modifier (in the U.S.A) for orange and lemon-lime combination flavors. As a “five-fold” concentrate or similar concentrated (evaporated) oil, it is used in candy flavors, soft drinks, ice cream flavors, etc.”
Botanical Name: Citrus tangerina
