Adam Michael has this to say “This castoreum recreation unlike the one previously offered has been re-formulated by the supplier and now consists of a blend of both natural and synthetic components. There are no aromatic differences to speak of – at least to my nose – and this material remains very true to real castoreum materials yet without containing any animal derivatives and therefore makes an excellent alternative to castoreum absolute.
The aroma oozes gorgeous animalic and dry leathery character throughout with leather floral, ambery, musty incense soapy, hop fruit boozy and methyl methylanthranilate qualities. This aroma is less raw when compared with smelling castoreum absolute and the leather jacket smell is far more pronounced. Longevity is impressive but not comparable with the absolute. I would sum this material up as a cleaner, gentler and more feminine orientated castoreum offering.
As for uses, absolutely brilliant material for building dirty rose notes, dark edgy floral accords – especially when used with osmanthus absolute, adds depth to chocolate notes, great for building soft leathery bases and of course works in harmony with tobacco, hay, musky, patchouli and amber materials.“

a real true to natural castoreum with personality that surpass the real castoreum as it is exceptionally well built from the producer to be a complete sex bomb..sweet, animalic, floral with no hard edges around but rather its a complete perfume..first time i accept a rather recreation to be so beautiful and smell so real..although its a tornado and needs to be diluted well cause it can overcome the whole composition..

Ive used real castoreum for years and to my nose this is not the same thing. However that’s not to say I don’t like it, it simply lacks the depth and complexity that makes real castoreum a truly unique ingredient. I live with beavers, they swim through the river that runs by my house and they haul themselves very cutely over my garden to get from A to B. So I struggle with the idea of killing them for their perfumery qualities, even if that quality is in my view aromatically quite extraordinary. So I’m going to vote for this material, I don’t think it compares to real castoreum but it makes a good stab at recreating the experience x
