Vetiver essential oil is found within the secretary glands of the roots and is possibly the second most complex base note after oud materials.

Choosing the right vetiver can be tricky. So as a general guideline, if you are looking for an intense smoky smelling vetiver, then consider Javanese material. If instead you want green, cooling, breezy vetiver, then North Indian wild vetiver is for you. For a classic smelling, yet cleaner vetiver experience, both Haiti heart and Thai MD materials are a must. And lastly, for a classic, full bodied experience, Bourbon, Chinese and Brazilian vetivers are absolutely worth exploring. And if you are still not sure, please note we do also offer two vetiver sample sets.
