Bo-Quan Wild Oud E.O (Vietnam)

Adam Michael has this to say “Vietnamese oud, no way was I going to navigate this deal solo. So I have used the services of a very well respected Indiana Jones type oud head to help me. The result is I have bagged a legit Wild and technically organic 2021 hydro distilled super star. Slightly thick but of a pourable viscosity, red brown in colour and the profile is characteristically on point.

The early top is woody, earthy, mellowed-animalic in the sense it’s got some dirty qualities yet at the same time they are delivered in a smooth, not offensive manner – at least for me and finished with a little spiced warmth. Cresol character is present as are warm resinous tonalities, leather, castoreum, hyraceum, musk rat and all of which reminds me somewhat of Cambodian ouds I have experienced. I also pick out a sweetness in the core – comparable to diluted fruit candy aromas paired with some gourmand chocolate that pitter patters into bitter territory at times.

Overall though this oud mostly showcases full spectrum woody oud profiles – sometimes smooth, other times decrepit, dry, powdery, warm, spiced, earthy, lacquered, damp and mossy. One for experienced oud-heads and fellow collectors.”
