Adam Michael has this to say “I think the question most will ask is how in 2025 did I put my hands on a batch of Tigerwood resin rich incense grade wild oud that has been hydro distilled in 1995. After all this is an uber rarity to find today. The answer – I have contacts who have private collections of aromatics that are worth many millions of euros – including some oud rarities. And I have purchased a very big selection of vintage pieces that I will release throughout the year – includes more Tigerwood ouds.
Profile wise the sequence in which this 30 year aged wild Malay oud oil unravels is classic Malay, however aged doesn’t mean mellowed in this instance. As the power here is incredible in the top, something I have never experienced with more recent productions of Malay ouds. The top is so dark, antique woody, and bursting at the seams with resin rich vibes full of brain-tingling goodness, finishing with a distinct bitter bite.
The profile throughout is powerful dark woody oud, antique dark woody, aged dark cresole, heavily resinous, slightly creamy in parts, hits of musk, ambergris, castoreum traces, earthy notes, gourmand liquors, fruits and finished with a touch of green. As masculine, top-table and high-society as it comes in the world of Malay Oud. A personal favourite and a true olfactive masterpiece.”

Kai Leon Art Parfumeur (verified owner) –
Initially, this vintage marvel is akin a tightly rolled ancient scroll, that in order to exeprience and appreciate it properly it needs to be fully unfolded – out of its compressed, heavy and dense state of encasement, so that each page of this illuminted fragrant story will unfurl, present its original beauty and tell its captivating fable with discerning clarity and in full glory fit for a myriad of its subtle hues and tints:
initially – from the bottle and at the first moments on exposure – the scent is jammed into a smoky spice of raw cacao, shrouded in resinous shadow, which quickly dissipates and in a few minutes spreads its voluminous wings into a open flow –
of a serene primal deep jungle, with a powerful bitter-green heart of leafy crowns from the towering centennial trees, going through all the staged of life at once – with nascent freshness of twigs right next to musty curled withering, and fresh dripping terpenic sap – right next to the fossilized teardrops from another era.
The Quietude of the deep primordial forest intermingles with a soothing hubbub of invisible living creatures hiding in the branches at distance… Suddenly, with another breeze, the bitter greenery turn for a moment exotic-intriguing floral – whiffs of tobacco flower metamorphosing into a floating ribbon of Lilac and Lily, only to go back into floral tabacco; and then musty roots make their own waft into a dark jungle song.
This Oud is full of breath and smooth transitions, yet nothing is separate, flashy or overbearing, and while all the notes are intertwined into a unison – there not a moment of boredom or stagnation – a sophisticated balance between polished surface and brawny character –
the moment it seems that I’ve grasped the scent, it shifts – ever so slightly – between its many woody shades, and then suddenly a leather makes a brief appearance and just as quickly vanishes – giving a way to misty resinous smoke, which in turn morphes into a delightful absinthian bloom –
it soothes any tensions and wraps in translucent calmness, without any ‘whistles’ and acrobatic effects – it subdues me with a refined, mature style and concise elegance:
This Tigerwood Oud delivers its fragrant story as a poem, with a flowing rhythm of serene, even solemn, yet majestic cadence.
