5th June: Lots to discuss today. First by Friday of this week I am releasing – with introductory pricing - Costus Root E.O Signature Gold, Persian Royal Rose Otto, Wild Borneo Oud Kinabalu E.O and 4 year aged Buddha Wood E.O. If I get time I will also get the Tea-plantation Kenyan Rose scented Geranium E.O released as well. Also, I am waiting on delivery now of Cis 3 Hexanol N.I and as soon as it arrives it will be put back into stock.
Another priority job now is addressing the new SDS process and from Wednesday, I am going to spend an hour every evening on this task. Thanks btw to those who have volunteered to help with the testing phase. I will be in touch with you all nearer the time. Again, once set up properly, SDS will only be available to those who have purchased the product. Exceptions again will be wild oud, extraits, tinctures and resins. America is now switched on until 14th June at 3pm Italy time for this month. If the workload situation gets out of hand, all other countries will be put on pause. Written as the USA is a unique client – accounting for nearly half of our workload. Normally not an issue but due to circumstances I am without Eleonora and admit that I struggle running Hermitage alone. Lead-time currently stands at 8-10 working days. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “This vetiver bourbon essential oil is utter perfection and a must try for the vetiver connoisseur. The aroma is full of warmth, baked clay and reminds me of an open fire aroma in some far flung country on a warm late afternoon as the sun is starting to set. This aroma is also full of dark masculine oriental sweetness, mature woods full of zappy character, earth, bricks, saturated wet soil after a heavy tropical rain storm and finished with a warm nutty nuance.
The colour of vetiver bourbon essential oil is amber to golden brown, produced from the dried treated roots by steam distillation and of a slightly thicker viscosity than regular vetiver oils. A great material for chypres, oriental accords, high end vetiver themed creations and pairs very well with Cambodian ouds.”
We have now created our own vetiver collection page.
Botanical Name: Vetiveria zizanioides
Origin: Madagascar, distilled in Reunion

I absolutely love this. I am not a perfumer or aromatherapist so cannot wax lyrical about its aromatic progression or therapeutic wonders however I can say I love how dark, deep, woody, rooty and swampy this vetiver is. I have subsequently purchased several others from Adam but always come back to this when I want a rich, smooth, thick long lasting deep vetiver to dab on my hands so when I awake in the night I inhale it’s glorious scent.

I bought this after reading description written by lovely Adam and I must say I was not disappointed! If you like vetiver this material is a dream, showing full on earthy, rich, wet soil character combined with beautiful richness and warmth. Even though it is considered to be masculine fragrance, I used it in several perfume compositions for myself, mostly in very small quantity to improve overall impression (I just love vetiver), but also to create heady, vetiver rich accord which is (at the time of writing) still in ageing phase.
With that being said, I also use it for home made cosmetics, like hair pomade, etc. The scent itself makes me calm and balanced, reminding me of good things in life, so why limit myself only to perfumes? Pure bliss in a bottle…

This is my husband’s favorite vetiver. I think it is a more masculine version of vetiver than other vetivers. Reminds me of the scent of whiskey due to the undertone of oak barrels.

Beautiful vetiver! The harmonious combination of earthy, woody, smoky, mossy, balsamic, dry and warm notes takes you on a long journey to exotic countries, and at the same time creates a cozy atmosphere, similar to an evening spent near the fireplace with a mug of fragrant tea (or mulled wine). The fragrance is very complex, multi-layered, it takes time to study it properly and use it correctly in compositions. But it’s worth it. Just an indispensable thing for a first-class men’s perfume. And just to enjoy its aroma!

Typically vetiver
Earthy but fine and complex
In my opinion for Chypre composition
Mix fantastically with oak moss

I have a very large collection of vetiver oils (35+) from excellent companies, and this is by far the best. Smooth, deep, complex, and simply glorious! The ultimate vetiver oil.
