7th November at 11.35am. Update. First, Hermitage Oils website is now closed for the rest of 2023. No more orders are being accepted and all countries have been removed from the website at checkout, to prevent orders from being placed whilst we are off work. Apologies if I sound like a broken record, but politely I have received so many emails asking about placing orders already. I am now putting an out of office message in place on the email and website contact page. As soon as all orders have been delivered - we are then properly off work for the rest of 2023. Sincerely, we need a proper break as the stress of this year has become too great. On a brighter note, the following SDS are now uploaded onto the website and available to clients by logging in to your account and going to the section titled SDS (assuming you have purchased the product) ... Blue Lotus Absolute, Bergamot Mint E.O, Clove Bud Absolute, Apple Liquid, Chamomile Roman E.O, Cognac Green Signature Gold E.O, Costus Root E.O, Eucalyptus Absolute, Cocoa Absolute Signature Gold, Geranium Chinese E.O, Frankincense Rivae E.O, Buddha Wood E.O and Cedarwood Himalayan E.O. The business handling the conversion still needs to hand over about 60 more SDS and as we receive them, they will be uploaded onto the website. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “Magnolia leaf essential oil, this aroma is white floral in the top, injected with a dose of green goodness, a hint of warm fruit and a splash of jasmine tea. The heart and base notes are again white floral, with more dominant fruity qualities and soft green character. Useful for developing white floral accords, Oriental accords and building magnolia and freesia bases.”
Botanical Name: Michelia alba
Origin: China
Wholesale weights (all prices excluding vat): 50G = 75 Euros. 100G = 150 Euros.

It works similar to violet leaf absolue – very green, clear and bright scent (reminds me on cardamom) with lot of floral components. Beautiful!

Fresh out the bottle is an intense watery wave of sharp green floral which needs a couple of minutes to calm before revealing its softer side. Once we’re there we are in similar territory to the fruity Magnolia Flower EO, and I’d say the differences between the two are similar differences to those between petitgrain and neroli, respectively. It has taken me a while to warm to it, and that’s truly down to personal taste, but now I see its potential and appreciate its power I’m open to experimentation. Maybe it could even be used in careful combination with other florals to create an accord for the unobtainable natural of lily-of-the-valley….but I haven’t got there yet!

A lovely light, sparkling and sweet scent. There are also notes of tea and wine. A modest scent. I love it.

I made three versions of freesia perfume, but none of them ever became the quintessence of this flower. Only with the addition of Magnolia Leaf Gold did a real freesia turn out. Now I have several bowls with blooming freesias and I constantly compare the perfume composition with real flowers. Magnolia Leaf Gold has become the twenty-fifth component of elegantly composition and the clue.

Elegant!
Refined…
This smell takes me back to my childhood, growing up climbing in my grandmother’s massive magnolia tree.
Something about this EO evokes a feeling of old Southern grace and style.
