Adam Michael has this to say “This angelica root absolute is utterly breath-taking, hands down the most wow angelica aromatic I have encountered, true signature gold product and my biggest congratulations to the producer. With a similar DNA of the E.O a similar development,  yet everything here is more together round and seamless in its delivery. The musky-rooty notes within the top shimmer and make those within its e.o counterpart actually look rough and jagged by comparison. As here these notes are heavenly to inhale and the woody, spice and trace herbaceous qualities sitting underneath play a part in giving us one of the finest absolute openings I have had the pleasure to experience with nothing that could be perceived as trace vinegary.

The heart to dry down notes are warming, a little floral, spiced, a touch smoked and reminiscent to my nose of that gorgeous smell of hay that floods the country air throughout the late summer evening coupled with some woody and tobacco nuances that remind me of both tobacco flower absolute and our Cigar Absolute that was produced from Kentucky tobacco. There are also touches of leather, incense and wood shavings plus powdery effects in play. And again those musky through to herbaceous tonalities are here sitting just underneath. I’d describe the herbaceous components as a mix of clary sage with herbal tea.

Steffen Actander has this to say “Angelica root absolute can be used in perfumery for its unusual tenacity and peculiar animal note, combined with a rich body. The absolute does not impart the typical top note effects which can be obtained with the essential oil from the root.

Angelica Root Absolute is produced almost exclusively in France, and only on a very limited scale; locally grown or imported root material is extracted in the Grasse region.”
