Adam Michael has this to say “Orange bitter essential oil, grown in optimum conditions within Sicily and just bursting with the freshest citrus aroma imaginable. The botanical name is Citrus aurantium, a tree which produces petitgrain (leave), neroli (blossom), orange bitter (peel of the fruit) essential oils plus via solvent extraction orange flower (blossom) and orange water absolute ( neroli hydrolat). In massage orange bitter is useful for encouraging the elimination of toxins and it helps improve the circulatory system. The aroma of orange bitter essential oil is bursting with orange freshness and petitgrain tang, immensely uplifting and awakening on the senses.”

So fresh and uplifting at first sniff, I will use it for massage blends, bath products. I just wish, there’d be an organic option. I like to use citrus rind oils in the kitchen too and for this organic would better.

I love it. It is like a more aldehydic, more perfumey, deeper orange oil, less sweet but very fresh. Super recommended.

Bitter orange oil combines beautifully with other citrus oils, giving the composition its unusual note, which captures the hints of petitgrain and neroli. Fresh and bright, tart and uplifting.
I recommend this oil to everyone in the perfume palette!
