Peruvian Incense Resin

Adam Michael has this to say “First if you like Palo Santo then take a chance and try Dacryodes peruviana from South America, this stuff is scented bliss. One of the most complex, multi layered wow type resins I have ever smelled, in fact it’s one of the most amazing aromatics I have ever smelled period. It has everything in abundance but to try to sum this aroma up in as few words as I can, it is Palo Santo minus the mint nuances with extra sugar and new mown hay undertones exactly like those found in a cup of Yerba Mate tea. On the burner** this is no different, maybe with the extra addition of some powdery musk, fruit, and dry wood traces but overall it’s the same burning as it is smelled neat from the bag. A must for tincturing as it is would be a crime not to use this beauty within perfumery.”

Botanical Name: Dacryodes peruviana

Origin: Peru

** At Hermitage Oils should you wish to burn the material neat we would recommend burning the material on an oil burner opposed to using charcoal disks. If you follow this recommendation we also advise placing a piece of foil in the well of your oil burner and then laying the resin on top. This prevents lots of mess and cleaning after use and by using an oil burner you get to enjoy much more of the aroma of the resin than when using charcoal disks.
