Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma neat of this creamy coloured resin is faint woody sweet with a fresh resinous zappy quality. Burned on charcoal disks the aroma is bitter sweet with myrrh like nuances throughout. Used I think mostly as an incense, has religious significance in both Buddhism and Hinduism.”
