Wild Silani Oud E.O (11 YEARS AGED)

Adam Michael has this to say “For the first time I now have Sri Lankan oud in my collection. And what a find. This Silani oud was produced from wild wood (Walla Patta) in 2015, steam distilled, obtained from a highly admired private collection, in my possession since the late summer of 2025 and as of 27th February 2026 is now available for sale to our clients. The aroma profile is one I have grown to love as I have deep dived back into the world of ouds across the past 7 years now (nearly).

The initial hit from the bottle, I suspect could generally be considered as being animalic, skanky and more broadly faecal. And more so by those better acquainted to pretty ouds, for such people this will come as a shock. But for me, I don’t perceive it to be faecal at all.

Instead, my brain registers animalic notes in the form of castoreum, clean horsehair, dark ambergris, leather, American-Made Wool Musk (not the inferior French imitation) and muskrat tinctures.
And of course, such a scent profile also triggers the feeling of warmth and masculinity throughout. Sitting under this profile we have the woody character and as you would expect from an 11-year aged wild oud. The woody vibes are old, dark, resinous and comparable to that of heavily aged, lacquered furniture stored in a cellar. Written as I can pick out some nuances here that my brain associates with a damp cellar through to the smell of gravel floors here in the Tuscan countryside after the Spring rain has fallen.

Continuing with the outdoor theme I detect decaying foliage on an Autumn forest floor entwined with moss that graces fallen tree branches. Here we also find p.p.m cade, white birch and smoke tonalities. The word smoke can mislead though as its not such that you would cough and splutter, quite the contrary because as bizarre as this is to type, it is actually a deeply relaxing smoke tonality that is so rounded and soft within its fiery warmth. Also, p.p.m vibes of dried tobacco leaves are present, both Tuscan Cigar and Indonesian Kretek Tobacco – as again in part per million form I occasionally get the most delicate hit of soft clove.

And the more I inhale this vintage Sri Lankan Oud  the more my brain feels so deeply stimulated and in turn the realisation of how comforted and calm I feel. As you can see this is a truly complex bottle of oud that provides us with so much scent t o explore.
An utter masterpiece wild oud, 10 out of 10 all day long on my score cards and of value to those wanting to learn about what equates to top quality Silani oud, through to the discerning connoisseurs who only want the very best ouds within their private collections.”
