2017 Siamese Atiq Jungle Oud E.O

Adam Michael has this to say “If you like your aged ouds, this hydro distilled Thai oud is approaching nine years of age (20.11.25) and continues to unleash a unique plethora of scent profiles on the strip across 100 hours.

Siamese Atiq starts out really warm, woody, resinous, cresol, light fruit spiced and menthol themed. As this jungle grown oud evolves on the strip, foody, earthy (think vetiver) ,mineralic, petrichor, mulch, camphoric, floral and honeyed nuances shine through.
Fast forward a few hours and the profile oozes a distinct musky Crassna character along with soft animalic funk nuances, incense, creamy hits of sandalwood, vanilla, benzoin and Peru balsam touches. Turn the time dial forward another 30 hours in time and now the profile is trace ripe pear, honeydew melons, sticky walnuts, and juicy white peach tonalities, finished with cresol and animalic trace notes – of which are central within the scent evolution of this material.

On the strip, longevity in optimal form stands at 300 hours and counting as I type, 13 hours on my skin type from a generous swipe, pourable, and subject to weight/volume the colour varies from brick red to almost black. Jungle grown and essentially organic minus the certification. Finally for the fellow oud-heads who enjoy those euphoric highs that oud can deliver, they are here aplenty – achieved by simply sitting with the bottle and inhaling all the way, and exhaling the scent slowly – of which makes for a very enjoyable way to unwind and relax.”
