Tobacco Absolute (Burley)

Adam Michael has this to say “Burley tobacco absolute smells warm, masculine, rich, exuding a faint caramel and tonka bean sweetness. Excellent longevity, easily detectable on my smelling strip after five days. Dry out is earthy, agrestic and just unmistakably, distinctively gorgeous, …. tobacco. Produced by solvent extracting dried tobacco leaves (Burley variety), viscous liquid and the colour is dark greenish brown to black-brown.”

Botanical Name: Nicotiana tabacum

Origin: Bulgaria

I have just tried a tiny bit of it. It is amazing neat, it gets even better diluted. At 20% it gets creamy, rounded, dark. At 10% or less, it becomes fern, feral, wild. It lasts an obscene amount of time, a perfect base note.

I never had it in me to create something with it since I bought this gem, though. Wife can’t stand it, she can feel even trace amounts of tobacco anywhere. I haven’t blended it, created accords or done any of the nice things. Pity, maybe I’ll have to sell it.

    Anyway, a masterpiece offering, indeed.

Excellent tobacco absolute which recalls the scent of a well filled box of fine cigars. There is a slightly fruity undertone reminiscent of tinned peaches or apricots, and a just a hint of an animalic quality but nothing offputting, It makes an intriguing accord in combination with the new vetiver hydrodistilled from Hermitage and will be invaluable for the creation of tabac blends and masculine perfumery generally.

Finally got my first tobacco and burley is fantastic. Has a lovely colour and such a rich smell. Does wonders for my dark, smokey and mature mixes.

My favorite tobacco ever! Glad it doesn’t have nicotine otherwise I’d be addicted! What I love about this material is its full fruity heart & long smooth draw. It is amply supported by a complexity of smoke, earth & hay. It loses its full aromatic profile in 45 minutes yet persists as an echo for long after that. I have used it to good effect, in small amounts, in artemisia and earth blends.

Amazing quality of rich, deep, sweet and sexy can wear it alone ..actually i could say its smoked oud oil with saffron together .Do not ignore this oil as if is a strange cigarette material in a bottle. ..Its one of the most Masculine oils ever!
