Adam Michael has this to say “What we have here is Triethyl Citrate Natural (TEC) and this comes from the citric acid within citrus fruit. The appearance is clear liquid, odorless and as Steffen Arctander noted this is a wonderful blender, solvent and diluent in perfumery work. And when blended with more volatile materials, contributes a soft, mellow, warm-fruity undertone and often also a winey-sweet top note to a fragrance. It is particularly interesting in Rose Bases, again according to Arctander.”
