What we have here is the entire production of a batch I fell in love with when sampling rose ottos from the Quba district in Azerbaijan.

The batch in question was produced in 2025, the top notes are positively alive, with a brightness and fresh rose quality jumping straight out of the bottle like a space rocket complimented with trace fruit-resinous facets that remind me of the pastel form orange notes contained within black sacra resin. This opening captures and displays the same wow factor as burying your nose into living damascena roses themselves – the level of realism compared with the living flowers here is astounding, truly one to one.

This is full spectrum rose, petal, dewy, powdery, syrupy (little), spiced (trace), stem, leaf, everything rose is embodied and displayed here in its most exquisite form. There are also fridge fresh bergamot aspects, ripe raspberries, nectarine fruit skin qualities, bubbles of South African geranium-rose and trace creamy vanillic tonalities that are comparable to vanilla flavourings found in addictive soda drinks (fleeting in and out of detection from the late top to early heart).

Maybe the best supporting notes however come in the form of the truly rich gourmand thick sticky honey character that is extremely similar to the gourmand honey notes found with nigella absolute. And an interesting standout rose note I find here is one that makes me think of a rose scented rain storm – if such a thing existed  – a strong cooling aspect within each droplet of rose that feels so intense and invigorating to inhale and plays a part throughout the entire lifespan of this aromatic. Green yellow to green in colour subject to volume or weight.

Mostly a pink profile with touches of red and a whole lot of profiles that I feel make this a truly unique and exquisite rose otto. 1st distillation with great staying power – 6 hours on my skin type from a single swipe, and enough development to keep the most particular rose enthusiasts blissfully enthralled.
