Palo Santo Resin

Adam Michael has this to say “This resin is nicely fragrant. When heated on the oil burner** its scent slowly becomes even more apparent. The resin’s warm milky-woody aroma profile is very close to the scent of the steam distilled essential oil, but much nicer as the aroma is sweeter, softer, creamier, with very clear lactonic notes reminiscent of massoia, minus the cloying aspects, and some lovely light minty undertones for good measure. Very well rounded material and a most pleasant resin to keep under the nose.”

Botanical Name: Bursera graveolens

Origin: Peru

** At Hermitage Oils should you wish to burn the material neat we would recommend burning the material on an oil burner opposed to using charcoal disks. If you follow this recommendation we also advise placing a piece of foil in the well of your oil burner and then laying the resin on top. This prevents lots of mess and cleaning after use and by using an oil burner you get to enjoy much more of the aroma of the resin than when using charcoal disks.
