Adam Michael has this to say “This organic material is useful in aromatherapy and said to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent and fungicidal properties and generally prized for its skin healing and nourishing properties. The aroma comprises of a warm hay, chocolate, chamomile and marigold character with skin ripe black plum undertones. This material is very different from smelling the fresh flowers and I would class this as a heart note.
Invaluable when used in cosmetics (emulsions or oil based preparations) for its properties and it will impart a strong yellow colour to the preparation so handle with care.
A total CO2 that is solid at room temperature, with a paste like consistency. With a few minutes of bain-marie though this material will be liquid and ready to use.”

Very deep, rich aroma, which fits the description given above. When used cosmetically, this is one of those materials which I find feels very good for your skin. Similar in appearance to Marmite.
