Cedarwood Chinese E.O

Adam Michael has this to say “Aromatically this  profile (09/09/24) is dry woody, powdery through to dusty woody, masculine, trace cumin spiced, bitter, astringent with a fantasy amber warmth and drawing many comparisons with smelling Virginian cedar albeit less potent on the pencil shavings front. Id add I detect a Parma-Violet powdery sweetness (I’m alone apparently on this) and as such this material reminds me a little of iso e super crossed with norlimbanol – the latter due to the very dry woody nuances.

As most will be quick to point out, what we have here botanically is a species of cypress. Yellow to deep yellow in colour, pourable and produced by steam distilling the chippings from the tree.

And I repeat what I wrote years ago about an aged offering – This material is useful for building wood notes, spicy accords, woody-oriental accords, animalic bases, pairs well with cedarwood oils, sandalwood and compliments the woody back notes contained within patchouli materials.”
