Most of the time I have preferred birch tar to cade for smoky phenolic effects, with the former normally giving a more enriching effect that is far less dry. However, the measure of an excellent cade is precisely that it is not too drying in effect in a formula and still possesses a phenolic sweetness. This is such a cade oil, with sweetness and without off notes. A cade of this calibre was used in for example, Ménardo’s Black for Bulgari at the time, as part of the rubbery effect.

Une belle odeur de bois brûlé. Intéressante pour composer une note de cuir fumé.
La couleur marron de cette HE est assez foncée mais nettement moins noire que l’huile essentielle de cade non rectifiée.

Like a rich leather interior but with a smokey, almost kipper like scent to it.

Absolutely love this stuff, juniper tar is one of my favourite smoke enhancement materials. Could not mix without it. Highly recommend for leather accords and a smokey woods kick.
