Choya Raal (Four Year Aged)
Adam Michael has this to say “Incredibly this Choya Raal was purchased on 22nd May 2022, meaning as I type on the 7th May 2026 this is essentially 4 years aged. How time passes!
The profile here is straightforward and unique – exuding dry smoky and tarmac type character comparable to a mash-up of cade e.o, white birch e,o and our leather liquid. This smoky tar type profile is definitely the bones of this aromatic and really roars in intensity for the first few hours on strip like a wild bonfire on a cold Autumn evening. As time progresses old beaten leather jacket tonalities come into play and are supported by genuine ambery Pinus succinifera nuances along with sweet ambery hues that I associate with fantasy form amber aromatics obtain from labdanum and or cistus aromatics.
Uses within perfumery, a must for campfire accords, leather bases and incense church type accords.
Please note the creamy coloured resin (photo) that we also used to offer from the Sal Tree is a completely different aromatic proposition, being faint woody sweet with a fresh resinous zappy quality. Burned on charcoal disks the aroma is bitter sweet with myrrh like nuances throughout. And in such instance is used as an incense, having religious significance in both Buddhism and Hinduism.”
