Skip to contentAdam Michael has this to say “We love Yuzu so much at Hermitage Oils that we now offer two cold pressed options from two different Japanese producers. And we also offer a distilled option : )
This cold pressed yuzu is the most impactful and wow on the senses in the immediate opening when compared with the other two yuzu aromatics we carry. The profile here is exactly like picking an unripe green coloured yuzu from our tree, and aggravating the peel so that it releases the fine mists of zest into the air – lemon, limes, grapefruit, bitter orange, the woody citrus branch scent. All of those nuances are on display here with some serious oomph.
This yuzu is unapologetically loud, crude, and in your face from the get-go.
Provides natural green-citrus freshness and diffusion to both agrestic and hesperidic top notes of a perfume, pairs beautifully with both conventional and wild vetivers and provides interesting effects within grapefruit accords.”

This one is quite unique, Carries that Jasmine Sambac note alongside sports section part of the store. I feel like there’s a faint earthy, spicy, root rhizome smell comparable to Ghandi’s root. It also has a faint smell of celery to me!
I forgot this is a citrus! But honestly this leans more Ginger to me in aroma profile, which is great in itself! Also the previous review is pretty on point with that marmalade smell, but in Yuzu form 🙂

Many of my peers know me as the no.1 Yuzu fanboy. And sorry to say this but no one‘s taking my spot in that regard lol. This fruit always puts a smile on my face.
Anyways what we have here is the new cold pressed option with a “Signature Gold“ tag on it, so of course I was very curious to try it.
This is indeed the most special Yuzu variant I‘ve tried yet because for one the balance at the start is very unique, meaning it leans more towards the sour lime territory of the fruit which reminds me of a little yuzu squeezed on top of of mojito juice. “Interesting !“ was my first impression, the juicy yet bitter mandarin facet was also immediately there & made this yuzu “yuzu“, but this time more in the background due to the sparkling lime top note.
That‘s not everything though & the highlight still comes : After the sour lime facet tones down what takes over is this unmistakeable yuzu marmalade note (the famous Korean one) which is used for yuzu lemonades, it smells exactly like it, so zesty, juicy, mandarin-sweet & floral at the same time. No other yuzu oil gave me such strong yuzu marmalade vibes yet, and I absolutely love & consume it regularly. The more happy I am to finally have it captured this beautifully in this oil !
To this day my favorite citrus fruit – it combines the best aspects of different citrus worlds into a distinctive and unique aroma, without any of the off-notes like green, spicy dryness or the sweaty undertones that some citrus fruits can develop. Not with this Yuzu. The drydown here only has green yuzu & mandarin peel notes in a clean way.
I also appreciate that it’s more affordable than other Yuzu oils while the quality hasn’t suffered one bit. So, with that being said – thanks so much to Adam & Eleonora for making this available ! 🧡🍊🧡
