Fleur De Cuir

Adam Michael has this to say “Fleur De Cuir needs no introduction because the new breed of online resellers who sell branded aromatics by name all sell Fleur de Cuir produced by respected French company P.B. Also full acknowledgement and respect to a well known UK online reseller in the fragrance community for being the first to carry this aromatic.

Prices
If you reside within the European Union and use this in your perfumery work, we can offer this for 420 Euros per kilo ex vat and that includes delivery with DHL Express and loyalty codes can be used as well. Yay. Compared to the vast amount of E.U online resellers and non.european resellers, this is a saving of nearly 300 euros per kilo on average in real terms for everyone. Remember, no custom import charges materialise when you buy from within the EU. So, even if you are a VAT-paying customer, the VAT you pay is cancelled out by the fact that you are not going to get charged any import fees – which would happen if you purchased from outside the EU.

So, yes you read correctly, however you run the calculations that’s a saving of nearly 300 euros for the exact same product from the exact same French producer. So instead of over 700 Euros* per kilo or more, we offer the same product for 420 Euros per kilo ex vat delivered.

*Based on our competitors’ (inside E.U and outside of Europe) website pricing for this product on the 15th April 2026.

Why is the price so low, permission to speak freely, the pricing models of some of these online competitors in question are just taking advantage of their clients.

I’m all for friendly customer service too. Yes they all have running costs, yes they all have free delivery models but so do we and yet you can save the best part of a real 300 euros per kilo and also make substantial savings on weights as little as 50G too. In stock, fast shipping, all the paperwork and big fat savings from 50G upwards.  And you can’t say we don’t listen to our clients as it’s because of our clients growing frustration with the competition that we have started carrying this to assist. Fingers crossed the online competition will just do the honourable thing and reduce pricing concerning branded aromatics sold in wholesale weights. If that happens Hermitage Oils has achieved its goal here. But if not and if needed we can trade more of these specialist aromatics in due course to help bring the prices down across the board for perfumers and fans of branded naturals. Just reach out if you have suggestions.

Profile, Produced by co-distillation of Osmanthus and cedarwood MD, the notes are here in what I’d describe as a fantasy form of floral and peach creamy candied sweet tonalities. Cedarwood is clear to detect and the combo of two together results in a somewhat medicinal sweet quality supported with warm gentle soft woody and leather esq aspects. Commentary of other resellers also suggests this has nuances and a vibe resembling oud. I feel that is partially true if the direct comparison is this with that of the oud recreations (mixed media) only and less so if the comparison is with genuine oud.

This isn’t a replacement for osmanthus abs in the same way blackcurrant liquid isn’t a replacement for blackcurrant absolute. But the floral and fruity components of osmanthus are here to see and the woody tonalities of the cedarwood does also display a warmth and Oriental sticky charm comparable to many of the amber type derivatives available today, generally obtained via labdanum and or cistus. For me in its own right this is a very beautiful aromatic that should definitely be explored by all perfumers and in many ways this is a perfume in its own right.

Uses, lends itself well to compositions smell wise that are fantasy fruity, yellow floral, woody, gourmand and leather orientated. And of course this is to be especially explored if you are wanting to create osmanthus accords and fantasy themed clean smelling oud accords. The oud character many suggest seems to come through best at 10% in dilution and as per category 4 in the IFRA documentation Fleur De Cuir can be used in finished perfumes at up to 5.035% . Overall a really excellent aromatic and a must buy if you haven’t already tried this.”
