Eleonora Scalseggi has this to say “After a long wait we are happy to announce, as of 4/10/20, that we now offer white frangipani absolute, a headier, toppier, creamier, waxier version of its red counterpart, white frangipani absolute is a brilliant addition especially for narcotic florals lovers.
Of a soft waxy consistency that will become pourable with gentle heat, white frangipani absolute is a beautiful white floral material, sharing some creamy-sweet facets of ylang ylang and to some extent tuberose absolute, opulent, sparkling, creamy, heady, sweet and quite hypnotic. It is a strongly intoxicating aromatic material, like a heavier, tropical version of fresh gardenia flowers, with pink bubble gum sweet yellow fruity notes that could also remind of osmanthus flowers, but with no trace of leather and with extra tropical intoxicating notes added instead – even too much! Getting lost into this material for too long has given me a slight headache.
Our fabulous red frangipani absolute of course shares a large part of the aroma profile, but it tends to excel for its richer notes, that make it shine in the heart to base of a perfume composition. White frangipani absolute, instead, tends to have more sparkle in its top to heart and a relatively more straightforward dry-down, so they can be used alone or in combination to suit your composition best. In perfumery it can work harmoniously with jasmine, ylang ylang, gardenia, orange blossom absolute for voluptuous heavy-floral and oriental type perfume compositions.”

The written description of this absolute is spot on. I recommend evaluating this absolute after diluting it – at a 20% dilution, all of the beautiful indolic, narcotic and creamy facets open up. This would blend beautifully with neroli, jasmine, citruses etc.

True to description, very rich, heady but soft floral.

This is another addiction discovered: I agree with Eleonora’s description that this is a narcotic material. I’t a challenge to use it a composition to create something even better because it is a complex beauty. When I smell it, I just don’t have enough and I have to keep smelling. Great for dreaming, getting lost in another world, and for uplifting your mood. It reminds me Osmanthus most of the other flowers, but brighter, fresher, more complicated and gourmand.

Between this and the White Rose, I have a hard time picking my top floral material on the site. There is not one aspect of this Absolute that is off-balance, it is sweet, delicate, dewy, creamy, leathery…and all in perfect harmony. Not as strong as the Frangipani Red, but more beautiful.

Excellent and quite close to the real thing. I think it goes extremely well with a little of any soft and powdery material to enhance the waxy nature of the white Plumeria.

Description is perfect. An adorable oil which can play along with many other notes including sandalwood, citrus especially lemon, many musks, and virtually any waxy note. The only downside is that its difficult to work with, I had to heat it up to 80c to get some liquid out of it. I’m buying again now – I wonder if Hermitag may dilute it before packing

This Frangipani makes me think of vacations in Hawaii…very rich and creamy and easy to get lost in.
A beautiful, happy experience.

While I could spend (and have spent) hours rhapsodizing over this absolute, the biggest tell that it’s a complete knockout of a material came in the form of a note I received from a native Hawaiian customer who praised my latest perfume’s pikake (frangipani) note, which was achieved primarily through heaps of this stuff. The perfume, she wrote, “speaks to my Hawaiian roots and the beauty of my cherished childhood growing up surrounded by […] pikake. Mahalo nui loa […] for creating this fragrance that embraces everything I love from my island roots! ALA MAIKA’I!”

The distinction of this personally favourite exotic flower, is its utmost finesse – being simultaneously rich yet delicate, complex yet velvet smooth. euphoric yet tranquil, angelically beautiful in the instant yet furtively sensuous way (unlike Jasmine or Magnolia), exciting yet serene – like a summer night in subtropics, a quiet yet fragrantly imbued with aphrodisiac mist of blooms in moist and warm gentle breezes.
From the opening, and in any concentration higher than in the air around the real flower, Frangipani absolute presents a gorgeous dewy sweetness of honey, a particular one – Chestnut honey (the most amazing from Piedmont (Italy), slowly evolving into floral multifaceted living gem. It demonstrates its embracing intoxicating beauty even better when sprayed in the air.
A noble exquisite perfume on its own, fit for a fairy with its finely mannered frivolity, definitely evocative of night blooming tree in Paradise…
