Adam Michael has this to say “Mint absolute is olive green in colour, of a pourable viscosity and produced by solvent extracting the aerial parts of Mentha piperita. Production takes place largely across France although I have sampled American material which aromatically speaking is equally good to my nose. The aroma of this material is utterly mind blowing, far surpassing any steam distilled offering as the harsh, and attention seeking notes are non-existent. This tenacious aromatic triumph exudes fresh, full bodied, ice cool mint notes from start to finish with a light playful herbaceous heart note twist. In perfumery this material injects a clean, cooling, and refreshing mint garden effect to top notes.”
Botanical Name: Mentha piperita
Origin: France

I don’t know if its a lack of expertise or skill but I seem to be a perfumer who’s interested in developing and emphasizing more of the heart and base notes rather than the top notes, and so when I encountered Mint that is as full-bodied and incomparable as this one, it simply reframed my whole relationship with Mint and how it can be used in a perfume. This totally inspires me to create whole Mint based perfume that is unlike anything I could have imagined doing with the regular Mint Essential Oils

A smooth and pungent mint with a deep heart and a uniquely beautiful mint that evokes an ancient long-lost mint variety, being more musty-earthy than other mints – as well as darker, greener, more mysterious and beautifully nuanced.
Much more heart than top here and the heart is a quiet earth-cooled, green wet and earthy minty one – as if born from the carr wood stream or dark river and infused by the musty riverbank; tinged with sweet and herbal spearmint, wet fur, liquorice and a hint of earthy vetiver. A tenacious beauty and deeply evocative.
