August 8th: As I type, we are currently rammed with orders to assemble and dispatch. For now, the lead-time estimates in the message below continue to stand. We are working every single day of August and as we will close across September, I need to offload my 2022 season Organic Lemon FCF E.O. We buy a very large weight of this every year and purchased just before we found out that Eleonora was pregnant. The material is properly stored, smells delicious and is now offered at reduced rates on the 250G weight (31.15 Euros before vat - supplied in lacquered aluminium canisters - absolute steal price) – available to everyone. Also, we are close to selling out of our Turkish Rose Signature Absolute now. We sell this for nearly 3 times less than what various so-called American rival operators are charging – for material sourced from the same producer as well. If you use our beautiful Turkish Rose Signature Absolute and need a bottle, enjoy our super low pricing whilst you can. We are also getting very low on Mysore Sandalwood E.O and Jasmine Absolute now. I will write again by Wednesday. Thank you, Adam : )
August 4th: As I type we are receiving a lot more orders than usual and we are very behind with assembling and dispatching orders. All Mainland Europe orders now have a 4-5 working day lead-time. All NON.EU orders now currently have a 7-14 working day lead-time as the courier agent we work with, is currently having days off (holiday time) across the first weeks of August, and hence adding to delays I am afraid. I apologise about any inconvenience caused. I will update again here by Monday evening (8th). Thank you, Adam : )
July 27th: Adam Michael here with an update. Ok, my partner Eleonora is pregnant with our first child. Written because across September Eleonora goes on maternity leave for 5 months and I intend to join her and use the opportunity to have a rest before the baby is born.
The exact date will be confirmed nearer the time but for now just to say if you need anything from Hermitage Oils to please plan ahead because when we close it really will be for 5 months and during that time we will be completely out of contact. Also so that everyone is aware, we will be working for the entire month of August and across August we will be releasing non-compliant oakmoss from a source I worked with for over 15 years. Yes I convinced them to carry out a production just for Hermitage Oils. On top of this I have hit the jackpot and sourced the most stunning Wild Harvested Cedarwood Absolute that money buys. It has an incredibly addictive profile, super sweet, woody, no pissy aspects like that of the e.o and the dry-down is first class all the way. Expect a thorough write-up when this is released. Also I unearthed more of our aged Opoponox e.o from Ethiopia in our storerooms so that is coming back as is Cedarmoss Absolute. As I type we have a lot of work to assemble so please note orders placed now will take until the early or middle of next week to be processed. Thank you, Adam : )
Joseph Colbourne has this to say “A lucid, intimate wonder, this extrait from enfleurage beholds a true representation of the white blossoms of mockorange. It is similar to the fragrance of orange flowers, with rounder aspects of jasmine grandiflorum, effervescent elderflower, and sweetly green linden blossom. A minute or so in on the test strip reveals a further bloom revealing notes of pineapple and citrus, spice and clove. After twenty minutes, it fades into a sweet memory, leaving a trace of its tenderly scented petals. This is a pleasure to experience in all its ephemeral beauty and would be classified as a top note. It could be incorporated into an accord that can fully embody the spirit of mockorange blossoms in bloom.”
Eleonora Scalseggi has this to say “Known as mockorange for its citrusy scent, this beautiful shrub blooms in spring with simple yet very elegant white flowers. Blooming takes place within a relatively short time span so for enfleurage purposes it’s always a bit of a challenging flower to work with. Despite the name mockorange though, I disagree on saying its scent is close to that of orange blossoms. Philadelphus flower’s scent in fact is somewhat virginal (not a coincidence that one of the cultivated varieties is called Philadelphus virginalis) and “cleaner” (thus non indolic at all), simpler in its development and a bit more lemony-sharp than actual orange blossoms so the two flowers remain distinctly different to my nose.”
