10th May at 6.30pm: Today we have lost a little ground on the progress we have been making of late. The area we live in was without electricity from the early morning until late this afternoon. However by Tuesday all the May orders on our books will be dispatched. And I am now aiming at addressing the wholesale list from early next week - it will happen I promise. Good news on the SDS front, we received another batch of them including for plantation ouds and across next week they will be uploaded to the site. Please remember SDS are only available by logging into your account and going to the SDS section. Here you find everything on file connected to your purchases. Ok, we are taking the weekend off now for some family time, so we will be out of contact until Monday. Thanks to everyone as always for your support of our little business and if it's ever possible to leave reviews please do so as they help improve the website experience for everyone that visits. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “Ruby gromwell essential oil is gorgeous erotic lipstick red in colour, of a pourable viscosity and produced by steam distilling the Chinese dried roots of Lithospermum erythrorhizon. Unlike the CO2 which is currently produced in Europe, this material is not deodorised, is not diluted in jojoba and is indeed alcohol soluble.
The aroma is very very very powerful and I am certain will not be to the majority of peoples liking. The top note is reminiscent of beetroot with lashings of ultra-acidic vinegar, valerian, smelly feet and urine. The heart note thankfully is less aggressive, still very vegetal but sweeter and quite earthy. From this point the ugly top notes are no more and until it dries out I detect beetroots, sugar and a little cream. As I say, not for everyone but when I sampled this ruby gromwell essential oil, and as a fan of the unusual, I had to add this to the collection. This is a real one off and again the colour is so fantastic, so intense and edgy. For the perfumer this material is a useful for fantasy and culinary compositions and is a great natural colour agent.”
Botanical Name: Lithospermum erythrorhizon

The primary hit to the olfactory system: Vinegary socks. Secondary hit: Fresh salad. Tertiary hit: Hungry for this delicious odour. And the colour…oh my!
