Adam Michael has this to say “This Egyptian produced carnation absolute is olive green in colour and although of a pourable viscosity, may still benefit from bain-marie prior to use. The aroma neat on the strip is a heavily concentrated celebration of eugenol feistiness, peppery spice, damp earth, honeyed warm florals, ripe fruits, salted-olive tonalities, and finished with an injection of warm green forest and herbaceous nuances.
Diluted down to 20% and via the strip, the aroma is still an insane heady powerhouse experience, albeit showcasing for me some breezy fresh floral aspects, before the turbo charged spiced eugenol and green notes profile begins to heavily dominate once more. The genius Arctander mentions this materials aroma is only reminiscent of the living flower to a degree in high dilutions, he states 5% or weaker.
The Dianthus genus consists of some 300 plus species and these annuals and perennials with their blue-green foliage and never ending array of beautifully rich coloured flowers seem to feature in most gardens. It is important to state however that no carnation absolute smells exactly like that of the fresh flowers regardless of dilution (more of a soft and peppery experience, possibly comparable to that of night scented stock flowers) and so far I am not aware of any success stories regarding enfleurage, but what we have here, for me, is without question top draw carnation absolute. Also, for the seasoned perfume pros amongst you reading, I would like to put on record that none of the carnation absolute batches we offer will ever reek of solvents in the top – a common feature of many Egyptian productions as you no doubt will be aware of. For absolutes generally we are on another level to everyone online, if I say so myself : )
Useful material for oriental compositions and this absolute works splendidly with materials including roses, ouds, tobacco flower and especially patchouli absolute.

I didn’t expect anything from this because of the clove/spicy description. Turns out these part are really secondary and you mostly gets jam/floral notes all well rounded. It doesn’t have a tingly spicy texture like anything clovy. It’s nose and heart warming and charming

OH MY!! It smells like Ripened Strawberries and herbaceous rhubarb straight out the bottle. Jammy Delight!! a dash of rose is noted.. very reminiscent of the fruit facet from blue lotus.
Honestly I’ve purchased some flat sht carnation absolute and wasn’t terribly impressed with what it had to offer, but this offering truley change my perception of it. Especially the blue lotus facet, IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN EARLIER!!

A must-have absolute even for those who think they don’t like “carnations”, like myself. A perfume ingredient that leaves your grandmother’s carnations in the dust as it soars into a firework of brilliance.

Magic in a bottle! Carnation is one of my favorite fragrances and this one doesn’t disappoint. A touch of black pepper absolute is a lovely complement to the spicy notes.

Heavy oriental gem that reminds me of tuberose and Indian origin blue lotus …it has a peppery note but also reminds me of a very nice sweet child’s syrup for coughs..

Lovely absolute with less raunchy green notes than the usual.
