Patchouli Collection

Did you know that during the 18th and 19th century silk traders from China traveling to the Middle East packed their silk with dried patchouli leaves to prevent moths from laying their eggs on the cloth? So in Europe, the scent of patchouli became associated with opulent Eastern goods. Nowadays the pungent, herbaceous, aromatic extracts from the leaves of Pogostemon cablin have become indispensable in the world of perfumery, used in oriental blends, fougeres, chypres, woody, leather and amber bases and so on. The main ingredient in patchouli oil that creates its unique scent is patchoulol, but there is also a small proportion of another component called norpatchoulenol which also plays an important role. We have here a selection of patchouli extracts for you, all of the finest quality available and mostly sourced from Southern Asia.
