Carob Bean Absolute Signature Gold

Adam Michael has this to say “If like me, you are a fan of reading Arctanders take on all things natural then I totally get why you would never consider carob absolute. However he didn’t write specifically about the absolute and tbh I wonder what he was evaluating sometimes as the idea that the concrete resembles a mimosa or cassie profile is something I can not for the love of god wrap my head around.

For me carob concrete and absolute are a full on brown note that exude the most magnificent spectrum of everything chocolate in pure form. This absolute makes me think of warm goji berries, warm melted chocolate and crunchy chocolate bars with a medley of nuts, fruits and raisins, I detect some vanilla through to peru and sweet benzoin tonalities along with jammy aspects that run in the same vein as raspberry absolute albeit more mature themed. What we have here is a very yummy foody esq profile with liquorice, myrtle and coffee liquor notes galore, and this also comes to the table with some woody components that I better associate with smelling our wild cedarwood absolute. Actually, at times I feel this scent tip-toes into hay absolute territory – albeit with a huge helping of chocolate (lots of you will disagree, but my brain cant help but register new-mown hay effects underneath the chocolate).

This carob absolute is offered as a ready to use 20% dilution in alcohol only. Reason being in pure form its a sticky mass that requires hours upon hours of bain-marie to get it into a semi-pourable form. If you have experience with this aromatic and would like to buy a kilo upwards feel free to get in touch on email. Also for the record, I obtained this batch directly from a business in Morocco – one that specialises in carob (there are a few). Written as this is in no way connected to the mediocre UK import/exporter that offers this nor that of any corporates either.”
