2nd October at 9.05pm: All orders placed upto the 20th September will be dispatched by tomorrow. All orders received up until the 25th September will be dispatched by 6th October. I will provide dispatch times here, for orders placed from 26th October to 28th October on 6th October. Thanks, Adam : )
September at 5.30pm: First apologies for not writing here yesterday as intended. As I type all orders placed upto the 15th September, will be dispatched by tomorrow with couriers, and orders placed upto the 16th will all leave by Friday 29th. Orders placed on the 17th will leave by Monday 2nd October. And on Monday 2nd October I will provide dispatch times for orders placed on the 18th to the 20th September. So at the moment the lead-time is about 2 weeks from placing your order. Normally what happens is we reopen, many orders come in and then things slow down and we normalise. However in this instance I suspect it won't happen this way. As we close in October (see below) I am seeing regulars buying much more to cover themselves across the period we are closed. Add to this my wholesale work which is now coming in really fast - as I have started sending out the stock reduction list, and therefore I forecast a 2 week lead time all the way to closing. Meaning once we stop taking orders - It's probable I will still need 2 weeks to finish before I can close properly for the year. Therefore if you do want something, plan ahead please and only buy if you can wait as with the utmost respect, I am not letting anyone queue-jump, even if they go on to tell me they haven't seen these updates.
On the subject of the stock reduction list - due to lack of time, I have to create it in two parts. Part one covers aromatics A-K and part two will be sent out on email (to those on the list) on October 6th. Regarding the new releases, they will happen, this I promise but I can't get that job done for this Sunday now. I'll need until mid October to make that happen. If you are interested in the new releases all I can advise is to keep checking back here as I will confirm the release date before, well, releasing the new aromatics! On the subject of Ambergris, it's a really touchy topic for me at the moment and I am going to comment on this in more detail shortly, but note I am rethinking decisions concerning ambergris. Back here with a final update on Friday afternoon. Thanks, Adam : )
22nd September at 4.35pm: A quick progress update. By Monday 25th all orders received up to September 11th will be dispatched. By Friday 29th all orders received up to September 16th will be dispatched. Of course, be assured I will push to get as many orders as possible dispatched. For business clients waiting on a copy of the stock-reduction-list, this will be emailed across to you by Wednesday 27th. I will be taking tomorrow off completely for family time and will be back at work across the early part of Sunday afternoon. Next mini update here will be on Tuesday 26th. Thank you, Adam : )
19th September at 6.55pm: Right, update time. First, I am now working on the orders placed from 1st to 17th September and I think within 7-10 days maximum they will all be dispatched, along with the gifts : ) Next, I am going to release Kerala Indian Sandalwood 1953 E.O by Sunday 1st October, along with Organic Moldovan Pink Rose Musk Otto, 20% White Ambergris Aged tincture and Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol by Fermentation. If I can find the time I will also release another Assami grown Oud (plantation) and a vintage offering of Indian Vetiver E.O and Red Myrrh E.O (sublime profiles) that I have held back for the past year now. Regarding closing for 2023 in October (please read below) I need to kindly put on record that I won't be able to make exceptions for clients - even those who have become friends, and to please keep this in mind and plan ahead should you need something specific from Hermitage. I will write again by the end of the week and thank you very much to everyone for the continued support. Adam : )
18th September Update. Please read carefully.
Although a month away, I need to announce that the LAST ORDER TIMES FOR 2023 ARE AS FOLLOWS:
🦋Non.EU Countries 18th October at 9pm Italy time. 🦋
EU Countries 25th October at 9pm Italy time. 🦋
Then once all orders are dispatched and delivered, we will close and reopen by mid-January 2024/as soon as the laboratory is finished.
Also please note as of 30th September we will stop offering ambergris aromatics for sale.
Thank you, Adam : )
Adam Michael has this to say “Cedarwood atlas essential oil is a powerful antiseptic, used particularly for bronchial and urinary tract infections. It is very effective for cystitis and vaginal infections and discharges (always remembering the need for medical investigation to identify the cause). It is mucolytic (i.e, it breaks down mucus) which makes it doubly useful in treating catarrh conditions, especially chronic bronchitis. Cedarwood atlas essential oil is used in skincare as a mild astringent, and its antiseptic properties make it valuable in treating acne. Its “masculine” odour makes it acceptable to young men and boys with acne, who might reject sweeter-smelling oils. It is used in men’s toiletries, especially aftershaves where both the astringent and antiseptic properties are helpful. It is also helpful for dandruff and other scalp problems. However, its popularity as a masculine perfume may be connected with its traditional reputation as an aphrodisiac. It certainly has a tonic and stimulant action on the whole body, while at the same time reducing stress and tension, so there is some foundation for this belief.
Cedarwood atlas is closely related to the biblical Cedar of Lebanon and its therapeutic properties have been recognised since antiquity. Cedar was used by all the ancient civilizations in medicine, cosmetics and perfumery, and by the Egyptians in embalming. The wood itself is very aromatic, due to the high percentage of essential oil it contains, and was used for building and making storage chests, as the odour repels termites, ants, moths and other harmful insects. In common with other aromatic woods, it was widely used as incense. It is still used as temple incense in Tibet (and among Tibetan exiles) as well as having important uses in traditional Tibetan medicine. Red in colour, produced from the wood by steam distillation and of a pourable viscosity.”

What would any perfumist do without Cedarwood? There’s a reason this may be the most widely used base note ever: it simply works. Tenacious, easy to use and blend, versatile, pretty affordable and, most important, able to hold its own as a great scent, having Cedarwood at your organ is a no-brainer.
Comparing to my Himalayan Cedarwood from another source, this one seems brighter, rounder and more balsamic, almost stepping into resins’ territory. Beyond its bitter-ish body, I can sniff fairly sweet nuances that appear when it is highly diluted. If you blend it with terpenes, it will sing high and clear hymns to the heavens.
This material gives an outstanding backbone to citrus, especially Lemon, and can work as a solid structure for pretty much every style. If you’re not quite sure where you’re going, just start with this Cedarwood Atlas and see what happens from there.

Atlas cedarwood as we all know it: sweet strong balsamic scent, I like it for room/ambiance and like the other reviewer said, it is great paired with citrus/lemony oils.

I’m not that much of a fan of Atlas cedar, but this material is of fine quality for sure. I guess I just prefer the peppery smoke and bark like body of Virginia cedar. Atlas couldn’t be anymore different, it’s much more pine like, with a sappy, lemon, olibanum uplift to it, a bracing and lovely woody smell no doubt, still figuring out how best to utilise it but probably would compliment frankincense, vetiver or citrus perhaps? or maybe in stark contrast to birch tar or guaiac?

What can i say about such a beauty that only nature can create – marvelous !
It’s almost one of the most used essential oils in natural perfumery and it really makes wonders in a blend – sometimes i ask myself how can such a precious material can be available at such a low cost !
It is a sweet, creamy woody with a hint of floral magic. Softly balsamic, and many says it to be masculine – but as long as i do not believe perfume has gender i would widely use it for any person be it male or female.
It is slightly camphorous, persistent with that pleasant bitter note as well.
Cedar wood is cedar wood – as rose is rose 😉 🙂

If you ever hear of a scent or a note having texture, this is an excellent example. It smells simultaneously of fresh rough cut cedar wood, and of ancient polished cedar paneling. At first, it is more bitter than sweet, with a fresh lift in the top, but as it dries, it becomes sweeter, sexier, and melts beautifully with your skin in such a way, it could rival musks. There is a bare breath of cool crushed green cedar leaves that wafts almost unnoticed, but offers a minty camphoraceous edge to compliment the near-mustiness… this is the best cedarwood EO I’ve ever had. A real masterpiece.

Can’t get over it. One of my favorites for all this years. Woody, nutty but in the same time sweet and soft. One of the best oils to work on self-confidence
