August 8th: As I type, we are currently rammed with orders to assemble and dispatch. For now, the lead-time estimates in the message below continue to stand. We are working every single day of August and as we will close across September, I need to offload my 2022 season Organic Lemon FCF E.O. We buy a very large weight of this every year and purchased just before we found out that Eleonora was pregnant. The material is properly stored, smells delicious and is now offered at reduced rates on the 250G weight (31.15 Euros before vat - supplied in lacquered aluminium canisters - absolute steal price) – available to everyone. Also, we are close to selling out of our Turkish Rose Signature Absolute now. We sell this for nearly 3 times less than what various so-called American rival operators are charging – for material sourced from the same producer as well. If you use our beautiful Turkish Rose Signature Absolute and need a bottle, enjoy our super low pricing whilst you can. We are also getting very low on Mysore Sandalwood E.O and Jasmine Absolute now. I will write again by Wednesday. Thank you, Adam : )
August 4th: As I type we are receiving a lot more orders than usual and we are very behind with assembling and dispatching orders. All Mainland Europe orders now have a 4-5 working day lead-time. All NON.EU orders now currently have a 7-14 working day lead-time as the courier agent we work with, is currently having days off (holiday time) across the first weeks of August, and hence adding to delays I am afraid. I apologise about any inconvenience caused. I will update again here by Monday evening (8th). Thank you, Adam : )
July 27th: Adam Michael here with an update. Ok, my partner Eleonora is pregnant with our first child. Written because across September Eleonora goes on maternity leave for 5 months and I intend to join her and use the opportunity to have a rest before the baby is born.
The exact date will be confirmed nearer the time but for now just to say if you need anything from Hermitage Oils to please plan ahead because when we close it really will be for 5 months and during that time we will be completely out of contact. Also so that everyone is aware, we will be working for the entire month of August and across August we will be releasing non-compliant oakmoss from a source I worked with for over 15 years. Yes I convinced them to carry out a production just for Hermitage Oils. On top of this I have hit the jackpot and sourced the most stunning Wild Harvested Cedarwood Absolute that money buys. It has an incredibly addictive profile, super sweet, woody, no pissy aspects like that of the e.o and the dry-down is first class all the way. Expect a thorough write-up when this is released. Also I unearthed more of our aged Opoponox e.o from Ethiopia in our storerooms so that is coming back as is Cedarmoss Absolute. As I type we have a lot of work to assemble so please note orders placed now will take until the early or middle of next week to be processed. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “I find myself thinking of Cadburys Dairy Milk chocolate whenever I smell this cocoa CO2. Likewise the aroma of cocoa absolute to my nose is similar to the taste of eating Cadburys Bournville chocolate. The aroma of this cocoa CO2 is much more creamy, milkier, sweet and sugary. This is one of the most delicious gourmand materials I have so far encountered and I recommend everybody try this material at least once. Light brown in colour, solid at room temperature, obtained via CO2 extraction of the cocoa beans.”

Ah, Cocoa! So heavenly, yet so mundane! So precious and, still, so omnipresent in our everyday lives! Even the healthiest people on Earth stray from their path to point that, yep, chocolate is good for you, sure!
This masterpiece offering from Hermitage captures all this delight and I feel very privileged to have it in my collection. It smells gorgeously creamy, sweeter than I would expect and darkly opulent, while still keeping an airy profile that reminds me of sniffing cocoa powder. It can be used as a whole perfume per se, going from dusty top notes to a gourmand heart and finishing with woody whispers at the base. Mixed with Star Anise, Elemi or white flowers, this jewel exhibits its most beautiful facets.
The only side note here is that Cocoa is remarkably dificult to work with, not blending well with many carrier oils, and this CO2 is not an exception. It melts easily, but it is hard to blend and a bit unstable. I recommend using it predominantly with alcohol and DPG if necessary, which seems to make Cocoa a bit more grounded. Since I love oil based fragrances, I still have to find a way to unlock this material’s full potential in this form.

The top of this material introduces itself as complex, mysterious & seductive. The heart is paradoxically percussive yet flowing. Very dynamic! The base is powdery & dry; it deepens perceptively by 15 minutes. Within half an hour it still retains its full complexity & power. (rare!) By 2 hours although its power is quite diminished, its stunning complexity remains. It lasts on the blotter for half a day, probably longer, however by then, the aroma has devolved into a sour roasted one. Definitely recommended for the palette of those enchanted with Cocoa !

Wonderful, exactly like cocoa butter at the opening of the bottle. Very seductive, never enough of it. The buttery aspect slowly transcends to darker, but sweeter facets to that of the chocolate, but milkiness and creaminess just keep on doing their magic. You can not resist to devour it with your senses, it just that good.

I was expecting a dark heavy mass, but something special came. It doesn’t color like dark cocoa and the smell is unrivaled cocoa. I really like it, a truly special gourmet experience. Delicacy!
