Incense Gold CO2 (Super Grade Serrata)

Adam Michael has this to say “Ok, so I know a guy, and when he juices anything frankincense, he does it better than everyone else. Honestly I don’t know how, he doesn’t have state of the art equipment like the European outfits, he is a one man-band, yet every single time he smashes it out the park and manages to deliver a CO2 that smells EXACTLY like burying your nose deep into the resin itself – pre-burn. Now, disclaimer, I’m not the biggest fan of Serrata as a resin, not at all, I much prefer Oman grown Sacra – I’d choose high grade green everyday of the week over Serrata, however, there is one producer that dominates the Serrata CO2 scene  – they supply Hermitage and our American competitors including the one that sold its soul to a second-tier European corporate a few years ago.

So this was a big reason why I thought let’s commission my guy and bring something new to the table for the Christmas holidays – so that’s what I have done. If the feedback is positive, we can make this a permanent fixture in the catalogue.

Now, if I do side by side comparisons with the other Serrata CO2 on the strip, whilst they both take a few minutes to fire up properly, it’s immediately clear that this CO2 is brighter, richer, deeper, warmer, thicker, juicer and just much more opulent compared to the industry standard. This is so intensely resinous, and the juicy qualities aside from being resinous are fruity – in a candy orange and candy lemon form with a honeyed finish and actually this profile also reminds me a little of neglecta resin at times. The colour is also golden honeyed yellow. Longevity is in the same vein as the other offering, but the experience of this is much more enjoyable in my opinion.

Works very well generally within Mediterranean themed pine bases, pairs especially well with Aleppo pine, adds extra belly to amber creations and fits well within citrus and forest accords.”
