10th May at 6.30pm: Today we have lost a little ground on the progress we have been making of late. The area we live in was without electricity from the early morning until late this afternoon. However by Tuesday all the May orders on our books will be dispatched. And I am now aiming at addressing the wholesale list from early next week - it will happen I promise. Good news on the SDS front, we received another batch of them including for plantation ouds and across next week they will be uploaded to the site. Please remember SDS are only available by logging into your account and going to the SDS section. Here you find everything on file connected to your purchases. Ok, we are taking the weekend off now for some family time, so we will be out of contact until Monday. Thanks to everyone as always for your support of our little business and if it's ever possible to leave reviews please do so as they help improve the website experience for everyone that visits. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has his to say “Opoponax absolute is produced by solvent extraction of the gum resin and then transformed into an absolute through alcoholic washing. The aroma is an infusion of luscious sweet toffee, soft dreamy vanilla, balsamic woods and sprinkled with liquorice, cinnamon, incense and earth. Jam red in colour, of a very thick consistency that will become pourable with bain-marie. Opoponax absolute showcases its beauty best when it is diluted at 10% in perfumers alcohol.”
Arctander has this to say “Opopanax Resinoid is a popular fixative in high-class perfumery, if and where its dark color is no drawback. Its warm, powdery, Oriental and spicy effect is utilized in countless combination fixatives for forest-notes, moss-notes, Oriental bases, “powder” type perfumes, spice fragrances, heavy florals, etc.”

A non liquid mass that has to be diluted in ethanol to be workable. Has this swirling resin tone, reminicent of myrrh but rather to the woodier side, some spicyness, and with a small concentrated sweetness. Also a little more “uncley” than myrrh. Yes, definately a note of distinguished gentleman. A long base note, great as an alternative to other resins if you want variation.
