Adam Michael has this to say “This is my first offering of clementine essential oil in nearly 20 years at Hermitage Oils. I love eating the fruit but the single fold essential oil has rarely wowed me, and when a specific batch did last year, the speed of degradation was such I stayed away.
What we have here is a 5 fold clementine essential oil, this has an improved shelf life, is safer to use, smells superior, and represents substantially better value for money compared with the widely available single fold clementine essential oil.
This opening is extremely concentrated, so much so that it needs about 30 minutes on the strip to reveal its true self properly and it lasts for about 6 hours in optimal form on the strip before it starts to fade out. The opening, again being too concentrated to appreciate, is bitter, green, clean and of course citrus with a faint floral touch. Within 30 minutes on the strip the profile fires up properly and is absolutely delicious, juicy, thirst quenching, fruity, sweet, floral, with the faintest Crayola touches that vaguely remind me of blue lotus flowers crossed with a melody of tangerines, clementines and sweet oranges. Within this profile I’m also getting hits of petitgrain-clementine fleeting in and out detection.
Blends well with sparkling and fresh compounds, pairs well with fruity notes, aldehydes, enhances the citrus effect in colognes, great in soap, and blends especially well with sandalwoods and lavender aromatics.”

In my opinion, clementine oil sits almost exactly in the middle between the very sweet and gentle tangerine and the intensely zesty (red) mandarin oil. In terms of strength, it’s comparable to tangerine, but noticeably milder than red or green mandarin. For citrus lovers, it’s worth having all the varieties, as the red fruits in particular are excellent for scenting a room.
