21 Year Aged Galbanum Resinoid
21 Year Aged Galbanum Resinoid
Adam Michael has this to say “As stated within some of the new releases in the past months I have a handful of oddities that I am slowly releasing for sale. All limited supply and all really aimed towards the curious perfumers and those that like aromatics with history.
In this instance what I have for sale is 21 YEAR AGED Galbanum Resinoid . Back in 2004 when I was 24 years old I took on Hermitage Oil and the purchase included stock. I have had this Galbanum Resinoid in the same 2 kilo aluminium canister for the last 21 years along with a few other heavily aged aromatic gems such as the 21 year aged Storax that I released last month (May 2026).
The founder had this canister of Galbanum resinoid in his possession for a good time too and as such this material is factually between 21 years aged to 25 years aged as of June 2026.
In its pure form this is a sticky sold consistency and of amber-red colour (see photo) offered in 30grm aluminium open mouth jars. Bain-marie will be required. The profile in pure form is heady powerhouse-green, woody, balsamic and dry.
We also offer this aged aromatic in dilution – 60% Galbanum Resinoid in 40% TEC. In this instance the profile is notably softer and rounded, with no sharp edges within its development. The profile is still green, woody, balsamic finished with dry tones but all notes are more unified as one I find.”
Arctander has this to say “Galbanum Resinoid is an extremely interesting fixative with an odor of its own. It is useful in lavender, fougere, Oriental bases, chypres, pine fragrances, woody bases, mass odors, and in certain floral types. Its use in hyacinth is almost classic. Galbanum resinoid has the definite advantage over many synthetic “green-odor” materials in the fact that it mellows in almost immediately: it is possible to evaluate the result and the effect during the creation of the fragrance.”
Botanical Name: Ferula galbaniflua
Origin: Persia
