Mark Evans has this to say “I always thought that Galbanum essential oil was a potent vegetal top note until I smelled this CO2 extraction! This Select CO2 has concentrated galbanum’s strong, terpenic top notes of sharp vegetal green bean and capsicum, grass, herbs and woods into a green powerhouse. If you smell this galbanum CO2 at full strength you’ll find it has a nasal destroying paint thinner / acetone smell to it, which is why I would recommend diluting it down to 1% before attempting to evaluate or experiment with it.
I would suggest using this CO2 in trace amounts as a powerful boost to the green note of florals or herbal accords, chypres, fougères etc. A touch of this would do wonders for Jasmine Sambac or Hyacinth blends to add a top note sparkle.
All extracts of galbanum are very useful to the perfumer as it has a wonderful naturalness of odour in contrast to many of the synthetic green materials such as phenylacetaldehyde, cis-3-hexanol, Triplal and Vertral which are intensely powerful and chemical in character.”

At last no more struggling with the medicinal EO of the Galbanum blend. This CO2 incorporates beautifully into blends with citrus notes and white blossoms, such as Jasmine and Neroli. It provides the green anchor on which the top notes can richly float.

Super produit. Très vert. Très naturel. Une odeur de tige de plante verte juste coupée. Excellent pour une note de tête verte de qualité en association avec l’absolu de basilic.

Far less terpenic and woody than the essence, this is more genuinely green and with a very subtle fruity facet that is reminiscent of galbanum resin (yes, the actual resin not the resinoid). This is more evident in the dry down which I could class as slightly resinous, and without the dryness of the oil. It doesn’t last as long on paper but this is exactly what I wanted: a truer green top note than the oil without the dryness at the end.
