23rd April at 4.10pm: Unfortunately, regarding the message below and lead-times, I called it wrong. My apologies. As such all orders placed upto the 15th - and about half of those placed on the 16th, will leave by Friday 26th. On Thursday no collections are possible by couriers as it's a national holiday here in Italy. On the subject of SDS, the company handling this for us, has written to me today, acknowledged more are owed to us (submitted in December and January) and that they are now working on producing the final lot of SDS for us. This includes Plantation, Wild and Jungle ouds that many of you ask about. Next, I have spent the past year (literally) sampling ambrette seed e.o and absolutes from various producers and resellers to no avail. They all smell really poor compared to what I carried. They are too nutty, too fatty, too vegetative, too lacklustre, falling away very fast, and really dont showcase the musky textured qualities of a top ambrette properly. Even the big naturals brands are all obtaining and selling sucky poor man's ambrette at the moment. Written as I have decided to move over to carrying ambrette CO2 and this will be in place until I can find a wow absolute and E.O again. CO2 is still not on par with what I had, but it offers a far better profile on the musky front than the abs and e.os in the market place right now. This CO2 will be in stock by early May. Next, we will put all the non.eu destinations we can supply to, back on our website on May 6th - so U.A.E, UK, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Australia. On the new product front, the next batch of 10 superstars will be released on the 20th May - lots more roses planned. And I will get started on expanding the bulk wholesale side of the business very soon - more aromatics and offered in larger weights as standard - likely upto a kilo on the website. Ok I will write again by Monday. Thank you, Adam : )
19th April at 5pm: Quick update to first say I have now added the following big ticket aromatics to the website: Italian Oakwood Absolute, Organic Georgian Rose Raduga Otto and finally Persian P.E.A Intense Rose (Otto). Orders, as I type with exception to 3 orders, every order placed up until the 11th has left with the couriers. By Monday 22nd, all orders placed up until the 14th will leave with couriers and I will type again across Monday with another update. Bulk Wholesale orders that still need to be manually typed and billed will be done so by Tuesday 23rd. Thank you, Adam : )
15th April at 5.30pm: Today I am running behind but I am happy to say that along with all E.U countries, we now can supply to the USA again. USA switched on just now and the Mysore Sandalwood 4 year aged E.O offer is extended for a week for USA clients to enjoy too. By Wednesday 17th all orders from the 9th April will be dispatched with DHL. Although we are rather full-on with orders at the moment, the lead time will improve significantly very shortly. Reason being since reopening the focus has been solely on building stocks up and we have staff coming on as well now (at last!). I will write again on Wednesday regarding lead times. This week my tasks are to get on top of the SDS we are owed by the company we have employed to handle this. And other than this I am adamant I will update the bulk wholesale list with more aromatics. Finally for now - the following 11 aromatics have recently been added to the site - French Rose Geranium E.O, Sandalwood Mysore E.O 4 Year Aged, Tuscan Olive Leaf Absolute, Mitti Attar (Petrichor), Persian Queen of Roses (Otto), Tomato Leaf Absolute, Oud Assami Skank E.O V.1, South Indian 10 Year Aged Vetiver E.O, Bengali Nagarmotha E.O, VIolet Leaf Concrete, Italian Helichrysum Absolute S.G. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “A warm diffusive heart note, jasmine sambac absolute exudes white floral, oriental sweetness, playful musk and heady incense qualities with strong undertones of orange flower water absolute entwined with tropical fruit dewiness.
Jasmine sambac absolute blends especially well with champaca, orange blossom, jasmine, rose and ylang ylang. Useful for building interesting green accords, spicy tea accords, imparts great diffusion within floral bouquets, and has interesting effects in sandalwood bases and chypre orientated compositions. Also known as Motia and Arabian Jasmine, olive yellow in colour, of a pourable viscosity and produced by solvent extracting the Indian concrete of Jasminum sambac.”
Botanical Name: Jasminum sambac
Origin: India

I always thought Jasmine was not my scent – too indolic and “vulgar” to my nose. This j. sambac is gorgeous, even on its own. As a heart with ylang ylang and roses it adds elegance to the accord. Interestingly I was thinking to add a minute of indol to the blend but Jasmine sambac itself is such a rounder that it balances the accord perfectly. Loved it.

Powerful stuff. It goes beautifully well with the ruh of J. sambac, making the combination even more enticing and headier.
The possibilities are endless, just go easy on it as little goes a long way. For e.g., a few drops of it and rose (otto) in 2 grams of sandalwood makes it a beautifully light floral attar.

This jasmine sambac is truly one of the most lovely sweet and long lasting abs that i found after searching in many stores in Europe and USA..truly great stuff and i used it with all the jasmine i bought from Adam to create a magnificent attar with his sandalwood EO
So happy

Sometimes I take this Sambac and the Jasmine Absolute and sniff both together. What happens is beyond comprehension. The sheer quality of this oil transports you into the source of where the flower came from. It is such a unifying transcendent experiencing, You question who you are in that very moment.

Powerful and a perfect ingredient for perfume formulas. On its own it smells great but in a formula the magic happens if mixed well with the right components such as Rose absolute and other florals ..not indolic at all

Sambac at its best ! (I have tried many.) Heady and indolic. Use it sparingly and diluted, though. This one is a strong little guy…

I’ve always bought Jasmin grandiflorum. It was the most beautiful jasmine for me, but Sambac – it’s another class. Grandiflorum is playful, fruity, cheerful..but Sambac is more serious, honest and more mysterious. I enjoy it very much. Even a drop is enough.

I already had sambac in my collection and it was not as good as what I would read online about the material, so I thought I should order it from Hermitage to finally decide whether I like or dislike it once in for all. I’m glad I gave it another chance because it is absolutely amazing and light years ahead of anything you can buy on amazon etc.

Someone once said that you can’t make perfume without the addition of jasmine. It’s the greatest Jasmine we’ve smelled, wonderful, sensual, luxurious and at the same time modern and beautiful. Like other people who have commented, we recommend with all our heart, Perfect component of a larger composition! We definitely need to order a lot more! A real treasure, we can’t imagine life without it! Best regards. Artur & Aurelya

Jasmine is an easy loving material. The Sambac one is a fresher, fruity, greener take on this classic. Yet it has it’s own personality. Very nice in combination with citrus oils, especially red mandarin that compliments well it’s methyl anthranilate content.

Spectacular – pretty much the best Jasmine Sambac I have found

Have you ever heard a Chinese folk song?
What a jasmine brimming with beauty!
What a jasmine brimming with beauty!
Aromas round twigs dance glee.
It’s sweet ‘n white, all praise highly.
Please allow me to pick thee,
as a gift ne’er twee.
Jasmine , yeah, Jasmine .

This could just be me, but bizarrely there is something about sambac that reminds of the bubblegum flavouring that you used to get in those dodgy blue drinks… but in a good way! This has sweet, fun, tutti-frutti vibes atop a serious, luxury white blossom. There are traces of exotic spice plus a very delicate, watery green note lurking in the backdrop that all in all make this oil magically multifaceted.
Each time I order this jasmine sambac from Hermitage the quality seems even better than the last, which only goes to show how Ella and Adam continually strive to improve upon perfection. I often find with jasmine materials that, beyond indole, there is an off note that doesn’t quite agree with my nose; thankfully this doesn’t show its face here. This is clean and pure, whilst maintaining a deeply narcotic hedonism.

If I could only take 5 oils to my desert island then Jasmine Sambac would be one of them. For me however, this offering does not contain the cant-get-enough-of-it honeyed orange blossom notes that I am addicted to with Jasmine Sambac. For me, a Sambac should be a powerful heady predominantly orange rich, juicy experience with an indolic undertone. This material seems to offer little of that excitement and instead heads straight to the undertone – whereas if that was my aim I would probably head over to Jasmine Abs for that.
