Adam Michael has this to say “Juniper berries absolute is a luscious grassy green colour and diluted to 50% by us in ethanol which enables a ready to use material. Produced by solvent extracting the berries, and the aroma is a warm, comforting, loving, rich, mixed berries fruity scent. Also exuding a seductive, sticky, fulsome, amber and vanilla like sweetness. These notes aside the scent also has an early morning forest freshness about it that seems to move in and out of detection from start to finish.”

Joseph Colbourne has this to say “A highly viscous, brilliant deep green solvent-extracted material, Juniper berries absolute is an undulating impression of the fruiting bodies of Juniperus communis. it opens with sticky coniferous exudates mingled with mixed forest berries, stewed fruits, and damp, mossy forest floors. Weaving in and out of nose is the exact experience of crushing a juniper berry picked straight from the tree. My personal experience is that it evokes childlike glee as I loved to crush the fragrant berries as a young one. Notably, this lacks the pungent, peppery aspects of the EO and is rather far more resinous and balsamic in nature. Though an absolute, this would be classified as a top to heart note and could be valuable as an opener in herbal aromatics, fresh green blends, mossy woods, and even marine accords.”

    Wow, I love this! Smells like the pure, crispy clean morning air. Beautifully serene, infused with forest berry goodness and really evocative. Like a walk through woods in the early morning, before the traffic started and everything is still dewy, asleep.
    In perfumery I used it for mossy, woody, rich blend, a creation dedicated to my birth month (I wanted to create something really special to surprise myself for birthday:-))
    Beautiful material indeed!

    Compared to EO:s and CO2:s this juniper material has a softer tone, and much more full-bodied. However it is a little more faint and doesnt stick out in the same way. The jamminess that cheaper materials can posess, is not here at all, this is a hogh quality beauty. It is sticky on the skin, like a bristly membrane of resin. Lovely green color. Unfortunately it fades away too soon. The scent character seems to be a heart- or basenote, but the longevity is of a top note.

    I’m not so happy with absolute, it is very sticky and it does not smell like juniper really. Pitty that essential oil will not be effered any more.

    Wow! There’s a resinous, soft base and my favourite, finger-crushed berries. And spreadable juniper jam.
    A friend once gave me some pinecone jam. It’s a very similar sensation.
    Masterpiece stuff!
